One-bar Templar PvP Build

Hello, I want a Templar PvP build (especially for BGs) which is either DPS or Tank. I will use Oakensoul Ring and I want to use Two-handed weapon if possible. I do not have access DLC-requiring-dungeons so; avoid suggesting sets from those, please. DLCs I have are Imperial City, Morrowind, Thieves' Guild, Greymoor, Murkmire, High Isle and Necrom.

I have access most combat-related skill lines except Psijic Order. Also I do not have access Jewelcrafting skill line so I cannot change traits of necklaces or rings.

    I'm not sure this can be done. Templar is a weak PvP class nowadays. I mean, obviously you can put together something and you will have some success in low level BGs. Let me also say I don't play tanks in PvP. I'm thinking about a DD. For the way I play, I find the following essential:
    1. Speed and snare removal, e.g. Race Against Time. This would also serve to activate both parts of Wretched Vitality, should you choose to wear that set.
    2. Some or all Swift jewelry. Aside from the defensive benefit, you need to be faster than the other guy while using Sweeps, so you make all the hits land.
    3. The choice of two ultimates, the second one being Spell Wall. This is because you can be so open on templar, not able to block while jabbing or beaming. Combining Spell Wall with Balorgh is a way to attack into danger and go ham.
    4. You need a good amount of raw damage, otherwise the class doesn't work. This is hard with the class finding itself in a nerfed state nowadays. The way I square that circle is by wearing two sets, a mythic, and a monster set, e.g. a two bar build.
    5. I find Magelight / Camou Hunter somewhat important to deal with nightblades, something you don't have room for in an Oakensoul build. By the same token Extended Ritual is a signature skill I would not miss, but it's situational and hard to fit with just one bar.
    The most straightforward gear option on templar is the Torc of the Last Ayleid King. Some swear by it. I think Infinite Archive and Apocrypha are part of base game, so you may be able to farm that.

    The most straightforward skill on templar is Radiant Destruction. This is arguably the only strong skill templar has left and it is really strong. If you were to limit yourself to beaming people from the rear, while the rest of your team also hammers a target, that is very cheesy aka effective. I shall assume you want to do more than that.

    I personally did not find the Ayleid Torc that good. I run Deadly (front bar), Wretched Vitality (back bar), Balorgh, 1x Trainee, 1x Esoteric Greaves on a Redguard magplar. Didn't think the Greaves would work on this class, but I wanted to make something of my Redguard. That odd race, while wearing the Greaves, has become my way of squaring the circle. Balorgh and Deadly add much-needed kick for an old-style Sweeps build, pressuring people while ignoring their burst as long as the Greaves hold up.

    In general, the sets people use include Rallying Cry, Wretched Vitality, Deadly, Mechanical Acuity, Balorgh, Zoal, maybe Engine Guardian, probably also the proc set of the day, e.g. Tarnished.

    The skill selection is where it gets tricky. Sweeps is nice to deal with flag guards, but too low damage against players unless your build is pretty aggressive. Radiant Destruction is a must. So are at least 2 healing options, such as Honor the Dead and Living Dark. Race Against Time is also a must for me personally.

    The newer style of PvP build uses Javelin instead of Sweeps and aims for a Meteor combo where they knock you back while throwing a Meteor and executing you with Radiant Destruction. I have not played this myself, thus cannot advise what else is involved.

    First off, I agree with @fred4. The only class I love seeing more in PVP than a Templar is a Necro

    But if you want a mindless BGs Templar Jesus Beam spammer, go with the VMA 2H (Maul for penetration), Deadly Strike, War Maiden, Oakensoul, and either a piece of Trainee or a 1-piece monster. Skills: Critical Rush, Rally, Binding Javelin, Vigor, and Crescent Sweep. That leaves one flex spot for an offensive or defensive skill. I'd probably opt for Razor Caltrops

    Basically, its hit Rally, line up a target, hit them with Critical Rush, follow up with Javelin, then Caltrops, then the laser show. Its a single target build that will not perform well against groups, for obvious reasons. If you are lucky, you can hit someone who is distracted by another target because your only source of real damage, the beam, can be interrupted.

    Its not going to be great. I would never take it into real PVP like Cyrodiil or IC. But you could have some fun in BGs if you aren't too serious.

    I play an Oakensoul Bowplar that is super fun. Currently a crit-foscused build with Perf Mora Scribe and Order's Wrath.

    Now if only they'd fix the bugs with Vault this would be the most fun build I play.

    I use a oak templar healer in PvP. I'm very limited to my skills choices (can't even slot the siege bubble) but the Javelin-Radiant Destruction combo is enough to kill low to mid level players for me alone. Then for good to excellent players Javelin is still OP as it bypasses block and resistances and I can knockback them out of the keep/wall/bridge, and I can snipe low health targets at distance with Radiant Destruction

    @fred4 the infinite archive is base game, but i think apocrypha itself is still considered part of the necrom chapter

    so likely any leads from there will be unusable outside of a free eso+ period

    you can port to infinite archive directly at any time, but to get into main apocrypha i think you need the chapter
