I'm not entirely clear on what your distinction is here.
Can you give an example of what you think "good" and "bad" pursuits are?
Do you mean "good" would be something extremely vague, like "gather resources", "kill things", "earn an achievement"?
And "bad" would be something more specific? I don't think "run a trial" or "run a group dungeon" is too specific personally. If it was "run X dungeon" or something like that, that would be too specific.

Rewards given away for just toolin around doin mundane things are nothing special. Might as well just put those in as Login rewards for all the effort needed to acquire them.
I like doing Trials. Many others do too. If there's a reward tied to them, all the better.
I don't like PvP. Many others do. If I deem it worth it, I'll strap on some PvP gear and go get it. If I don't deem it worthy then I won't do it, and I won' begrudge any players who do.

This last bit really hits it for me.
If the pursuit was "win 1 match of Battleground", I could sort of sympathize as that may take some effort, but you get the reward just for participating. You can die 100 times in a match, and still get the reward.
Same way as I've said time and time again, I absolutely hate 4 man dungeons and what I still find an incomprehensible mix of toxic fake whatevers in them. Lordy hoo har, do I despise a certain portion of the mid game PvE community in this game. But I can hold my nose and run an RND for a reward.
You don't HAVE to do the gain levels achievements. There are still 25 others to do, and you only need 20.
Seriously ZOS have given a wide range of options for the activities to gain the 20 achievements - well done to them on this.
If the GP aren't bound to tasks, what do you want? Just to be given something for doing nothing??
You do have the choice to NOT get the rewards.

You literally said that you "dispise" some players you even don't know or have met? Did I get you right?
If one is to earn a reward, it has to be tied to something. Otherwise it's not being earned. It's just given away.ElvenOverlord wrote: »Let’s not start with straw man arguments. People who don’t like rewards tied to one specific type of task are not saying they want that reward for doing nothing. Literally no one has said that so don’t know where that even came from. They’re saying let them earn the rewards but not tie a random axe for example to content they don’t do like Trials for example.
That's just stacking multiple tasks towards earning the item, which is basically just side-talk for "Just tie the rewards to anything I'm already doing because I don't want to do anything else".AnduinTryggva wrote: »Ok, but then I think the task-tied rewards should be available by alternative tasks. For instance, the dagger style sheet could be achievable bei either task 1 or task 4 or task 9 alternatively. While I still think task-tied rewards should go.
If the goal of pursuits is to incentivize engagement with various parts of the game, then hooking an incentive to a particular activity is probably a good way to do that. I'm on the fence about whether to join a Trial for the Maul style or do BGs for the Axe since I don't engage with those aspects of the game, but most of the rest of those are things that I'd either normally do as part of my playing or could be incentivized to do (visiting other players' homes, for example).
As far as the specific tasks part, the stuff like "complete a dungeon" or "complete a trial" are pretty non-specific.

Now, this might be just because of the Golden event. It might be because a lot of people are "just giving it a try", and as usual mileage may vary... but I've enjoyed both trials and BGs and I'd advise anyone who has reservations to just give them a try.
