A newbies experience with the new battlegrounds

I pvp in Cyrodiil and have ran a total of about ten or so Battlegrounds prior to the recent updates.

Last night due to the Golden Pursuit I signed up for the 4 versus 4 solo BG. Got a group and after zoning in had to wait a long time before the darn thing even started. Then there was another long wait after the first round. Then I died twice and the last time it would not let me rez, just view. So laid there on the ground for a while watching and after a minute or so the game told me I was going to be kicked from the BG for inactivity. I had no option to rez nor did it look like two of my other two team mates could also as they were not rezzing either. THEN i was kicked from the BG.

NOT A FAN. I'm sure I was doing something wrong, rezzing wrong?

The wait times are horrible. I'll not be trying this again. Just my 25 cents.

Whether I was unable to rez and kicked for something that was my fault or a game mechanic or a bug, this is NOT a good way to entice people to play BG's. Those wait times all by their selves are enough to make me want stab myself in the eye with a wooden spoon.

Ever since the new bgs were released I've had to remove all wooden utensils from my house for the exact same reason.

4v4 is the absolute worst mode of play. I'll never try that again.

4v4 mode is the competitive mode, you have limited number of lives and once your out, you basically can only spectate the rest of the match

would recommend doing the 8v8 for a more casual experience (no limited lives, more game modes)
    plays PC/NA

    active player since april 2014

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

4v4 *should* be a lot of fun for competitive, but as it stands it has some major problems:

    1) Too few players are queuing regularly for 4v4 for MMR to have *any* effect at all. Or MMR is broken or something. We never stop seeing 16k players who die to a light breeze. Anyone even quasi-competent should be leveling out of these matches stacked with complete newbies, but they aren't.

    2) Healers earn stupid amounts of medals, so too many of them queue to push the (still) broken leaderboard system.

    3) People with insanely weak heals *still* think they are good healers cos there is very little in-game feedback for them to gauge from, so they queue into the heals meta thinking they are contributing when they barely are at all (from what I see in logs, at least).

    4) All the basic ways that PVP has deteriorated in ESO in the past 5 years are painfully evident in 4v4, between insane healing and insane proc meta.

    2) Too many non-competitive players are queuing 4v4 because (for reasons nobody will ever be able to guess) they made it the default queuing option. It's super rare to have a match that feels competitive at all in 4v4, which defeats the point of the mode.

It's hard to have fun in 4v4. I still try, but I usually end up in 8v8 eventually.

Thanks everyone. I ran and 8x8 last night which was more palatable. Apparently the long wait time was a timer until everyone joined. I'm thinking the reason i was kicked from the 4x4 was due to the last guy alive staying at the zone in and shooting people instead of jumping down. The message wasn't clear on that when it was occurring.

Was rather fun last night, was on my NB killing people left and right, still like cyrodiil better though.
