Balastar

I decided to share my guild event for this year: Holiday Hassle 2024 with you guys. Every December I organize some event for guildies and this one has been popular. Holiday Hassle is basically "hidden object" game with a story and it lasts whole month. There is new mission every day and when the new mission opens (usually 7CET) when the old one closes. The story is posted in our Discord and guildies send me their answers via pm and everyone gets prizes! This event happens on PC EU server.

So here, to spread some joy in this world, it is for you if you! Just for the fun of it. You do not have to send me the answers and unfortunately no prizes for the forum users. Enjoy!

I am a Keeper of the Enchanted Snow Globe house, Guardian of Saturalia, Väinö-Perttuli Lauantaimakkara. Just call me Väpä.
I need you once again to help me to prepare for the Saturalia and New Life Festival!!"

Saturalia?
Saturalia is a Breton celebration that heralds the New Life Festival, and is held on the 25th of Evening Star.
Originally a holiday for Sanguine, the god of debauchery, it has become a time of gift giving, parties, and parading.
Among the Khajiit the Saturalia celebration and sharing of gifts is known as the "Saturalia Baan Dar gift swap"

Who lives in Snowglobe House?
"Me and my trusty frog Elvis live in the Snowglobe house most of the year, the rest of the staff live there just around Saturalia time. Braggis and Tuisku are my trusty helper elves, they have their bedchamber in the basement. You might remember Head Elf Toljanteri, he retired last year. Snow Mortals and Scuttleblooms are my enchanted workers, spirits of Saturalia. Snow Mortals are more or less the janitors and Scuttles are responsible of making all the Saturalia gifts."

"The Portal Machine is a heart of operations. With the machine we are able to teleport items (mostly gifts) in and out of the snowglobe. It has also super telescope and I use it to spy all the people in Tamriel (but no more about that uhm....)"

"Thank you for finding the Snowmortals! They had all got letters saying that the Saturalia is cancelled from this year, so they just continued their vacation. Weird, who would do that?

What a day, speaking about Friday 13th! I just heard about scamps and banekins attacking the ESO datacenter! They were causing so much mayhem there the whole Tamriel has vanished from the map! Someone is really trying to stop Saturalia and New Life Festival!! I just wonder who!?
If Tamriel reappears in the map today, you have still time to get firewood, we can always use more.

"The scamp problem in ESO datacenter was dealt and Tamriel came back to existence.

I was little nervous entering the air ducts. It was so cold in here and weird noises echoed from the metal.

The duct leading to the workshop was fully frozen. There was also all kind of weird items and creatures found in the ducts, even A lost time traveller.

"The gamblers were behind all this!" After I evicted them from the "Cave of Wonders", they had moved to the air duct! They were hogging the warmth from the fireplace all for themselves. Thy were also hatching some weird egg, I wonder what lives inside of it?

Luckily the snowmortals kept eye on us!

I feel this all is now my fault. Poor Scuttles got sick and gamblers lost again their spot. I thought for a long time about what to do with them and decided that since we can't get rid of them, we offer them space in the house. The gamblers gratefully accepted the offer, but I reminded them "No shenanigans!!"

Once the blockage was removed, the house started to warm up again. Scuttles recovered from their flu and it was time to get back to normal. Also the small Scuttle who was attacked by the spiders had recovered and was ready to work again! Eirlys's honey had done the trick!

While snowmortals were trying out carrot noses, Braggis called to the helpline again. This time he got to talk with an actual person.
"Do you have the Portal Override Key", customer service asked? We didn't have one. "The only key available is in Elweyr, Moon-Sugar Meadow temple. We can either deliver it in 60 working days, or you can pick it up by yourself."

The machine kept spitting more and more stuff into the room.
"We can't wait that long, we'll pick it up ourselves", Braggis said and hung up. The workshop was almost full of items.

As I forgot to press "Post Reply" yesterday for some reason, I will keep the temple house open if someone wants to visit.

What an adventure!

We met Mizzik Thunderboots and Ember at the temple. They were looking for a treasure and they agreed to help us.

We climbed to the top of the temple, where we found a secret passage that led down deep inside of it. I was a little worried about the large sphere above the passage, looked like a trap.

There was a light at the end of the corridor, there was a chamber with the Portal Override Key!


I lifted the key in my hand, we heard loud click and the chamber began to shake and the ground began to collapse beneath us. We ran up the corridor towards the top of the temple, but the sphere above the corridor came crashing down towards us. Suddenly a hand pulled us into the recess and thus saved us from certain death!

It was Ember. She had found a secret passage in the burial chamber while we were climbing up the temple wall. She saved us from the nasty trap, Good job Ember!

We also found Mizzik's treasure, but that's another story. I didn't know which treasure got him more excited.

We now had the Portal Override Key. But the problems had increased at the house.

The whole house was so full of stuff that no one would have been able to wade through it and use the key. "I left my Shrinking Potion recipe in the workshop!", Braggis sighed. "That you have been so handy now!" Snowmortal showed up. “Airdrop!” he yelled. "The old-fashioned mail", he clarified. "Airdrop now?", I wondered. Could you find it?

I freaked out, squealed and climbed and frolicked around the room. I threw things around and jumped on top of Tuisku's head to investigate her hair. "He's an annoying monkey," Tuisku said. "We need to find monkey things for him to calm him down!!".

Thanks for the monkey stuff, they calmed down him and soon the monkey-Väpä was sleeping like a little pig with Moppet and Frog in his arms. "He is so cute when he sleeps!"

The sweet tooth Ogre had taken the Sweetrolls and ran in such a hurry that half had dropped on the way. This made him easy to follow. In the evening, all friends gathered at the house and they circled around the monkey Väpä. "Think happy things, connect your heart and mind and let warm thoughts flow through your hands to Väpä," Tuisku instructed. And PUFF I changed back to my wonderful self! Thank you friends!!


Although I was a little hairier than before, but I did not mind new hair and clothes! I was tired for the short hair anyway. It was wonderful to be myself again. Monkeying around was fun for a while, but I don't miss it at all.

SnowKhajiit covered the table full of goodies and SnowMortal had arranged musical instruments. We had wild party. These people were fantastic!!



Braggis had made the fan harmless and it turned its user into a monkey just for a short while. The party crowd tested the fan with enthusiasm. Towards the end the party got maybe too wild. 😄 😄
