How to use dark conversion safely?

I'm sure there are sorcs out there that have a few tricks.

I was wondering if the ball of lightning morph/mist form that intercepts projectiles would make for a safer way to cast this heal

They both absorb projectiles, so it would possibly give some breathing room

Any idea sorc enjoyers?

In what context? I usually just cast it, though in PvP it's interruptable. If you need a safer heal, sorc has a lot of healing options.

Assuming this is in a pvp context.

During combat, best times to use dark deal is when you can line of sight incoming attacks, so running behind a tree, or rock, or wall, etc. To get here, shield up into roll dodge into streak into line of sight turn, or something of that nature. Having some movement buffs can help with that too.

Another time is when you have cc immunity either from a recent cc break or when popping an immovable pot.

All that aside, there are easier/safer options for healing besides dark deal.

I felt very strange impression, when I equip "dark conversion set". :/
That set looks like more PVE mech rather than PVP situation.

Cooling time is too much long, so I can't cast damage AoE at the suitable timing.
It's useful to wipe out trash mobs in the group dungeon, but not for PVP.

    And, more over...

Most of player avoid it instantly, if people notice AoE. It's definitely for NPC enemy.
    My playing time Mon-Friday UTC13:00-16:00 [PC-NA] CP over2000 now.
    I have [1Tough tank] [1StamSorc-DD] [1Necro-DD] [1Real Healer]
    with [1Stam Blade].
But, I'm Tank main player. Recently I'm doing Healer.

They are talking the Sorc skill, heal with mag or stam regen depending on the morph. You're talking about Dark Convergence which is a whole different thing ;)

As for OP I don't use it much, I could see it being trickier on a Sorc tank or PVP. As a dps I have less issues but it doesn't feel as reliable as the Matriarch. I don't understand the need for a small cast time, but perhaps it is a balance for yesteryears.

Dark Convergence is entirely different from Dark Conversion/Dark Deal. It's also, without a doubt, a pvp set that's used, more often than not, by bombers.

I rarely ever see the ability used by pve dps. It's often used in pvp though, more as a way to get resources back quickly, less as a heal since there are better options to use, like vigor or wards. On a sorc tank, it's an extra option to essentially trade one resource for another, the tricky part is timing the ability use between boss mechs and heavies.

I love dark deal for solo PVE situations where I need to do a lot of dodging, running, or such. For IC bosses it is a big help for me. On occasion I will slot it if I need to do a lot of mechs. But ya I was guessing it is more for PVP, and pretty easy to interrupt.

I cast it right after I Streak out of range or through enemy players (stunning them), giving me enough time to complete the cast.
