Dearhmatch inactivity bug gripe

I juat want to make a statement here about this bug. I have played alnost nothing but deathmatches today (4v4 solo) and in 7 games, have gotten kicked 4 times with in last minute of a round for 'inactivity' because I lost all my lives and a teammate wanted to be a coward and hide in the base. Of course it has given me an undeserved desterter oenalty every time.

This bug has been going on since update 44 launched, and while I know they are aware and working on a fix, it is EXTREMELY frustrating trying to go for a leaderboard spot and getting a penalty more than half of the games.

    In addition, I am very frustrated that those 5-6 games now have ended with no AP or score gain due to this.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin are the battlegrounds bugs for being kicked in spectator mode and the Closing in 10 Seconds due to not enough players being looked into, are they on the team's radar? These have made it difficult to play as we spend most our time waiting on ESO instead of getting to enjoy playing the game itself.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_Kevin are the battlegrounds bugs for being kicked in spectator mode and the Closing in 10 Seconds due to not enough players being looked into, are they on the team's radar? These have made it difficult to play as we spend most our time waiting on ESO instead of getting to enjoy playing the game itself.

    We won't get any answers until December because the team is on vacation this week.

    This and the lobby closing bug were reported week 1, but here we are, many weeks later, and nothing has been done. Even the "fix" that they claimed they delivered didn't stop this. It's a massive waste of time.

    you are right the holidays period will probably mean it will be like this until Q2 2025 🥴

    The spectator mode issue will be resolved next incremental patch. I just reviewed the patch note for it yesterday.

    We’ll check in on the closing in 10seconds note with the team. We will have delayed communication due to the upcoming holiday, so just wanted to be upfront about that.

    Awesome! It has been a nightmare dealing with deathmatches when you die before everyone else and get stuck with that 15 min penalty. Had it happen 5 times in a row once. It's gonna be nice not having to worry about that.

    And on a related note, why so many deathmatches??? You've got 5 battleground modes, why is it that deathmatches come up so often (around half the time it seems like)? I know a lot of people are in it for the kills, but I actually like ALL the other modes more. Or just finally give us a choice rather than random.

    We're off to a bad start tonight. 33min in game, 2 empty BGs to show for it. We're approaching the 1month mark since patch and your reply makes it seem like there's been some miscommunication. So to clarify, I don't believe this is a bug. I believe this is a critical failure of the matchmaking logic.

    Here's my assumption for what is currently coded:
    - Players join the queue
    - Matchmaking sorts and filters players based on various MMR and other metrics
    - When enough players exist to fill a lobby, the instance is created and the invites go out

    Here's where the problem is:
    - 1 Player goes afk, gets stuck in combat, or does something that causes them to miss the queue
    - All other players are already in the lobby for the instance
    - Matchmaking now tries to find a suitable replacement for the missing player

    This is a critical failure (if I'm not wrong with my assumption) because it doesn't create a buffer for the very likely scenario where a player misses a ready up.

    It also just doesn't make any sense because the Group Finder queue specifically solves this, so I'm just really lost as to why dev time was used to create a unique matchmaking system that doesn't work. When you queue in Group Finder, ready ups get sent, but no lobby is created until everyone accepts.

    A month of wasted time is too long. I'm so happy I haven't paid a dime for this because I'd feel really duped if I had. This issue was prominently displayed to everyone who watched the livestream.

    Please replace the current BG match maker with the one that already does the job perfectly and is already in the game. No lobbies should be getting created unless everyone is ready for them. The games that do happen are 8/10 in terms of enjoyment. Way better than 4v4v4's ever were. I can live with the issues that are keeping them from being a 10/10 experience.

    However this new experience of logging in with my wife and sitting and waiting in lobbies, only to have them fail time after time again, is really starting to get old. I can already tell the honeymoon phase is over. It's prime time on a Saturday night on PCNA and group queue is back to being 10-15min to get a lobby AND THEN they don't even fill and we waste more time.

    EDIT - ending the night just so so so disappointed, Kevin. This is truly awful. 90 minutes on a Saturday night and we got 2 total BGs out of 7 lobbies.

    I play the solo 4v4 matches, which are only deathmatch, domination, and crazy king. For whatever reason, the past couple days had me in back to back deathmatches 10 games in a row before I had one flag game.
