I don’t mind guilds advertising. But I despise gold sellers and trial carry solicitors aka Team Brazil and the like spamming garbage on repeat in every zone by multiple people.

Guilds advertising isn't the problem this thread is discussing. The problem is one very annoying guild just auto invites anyone who uses the wayshrine in Daggerfall. Without fail, I zone into the wayshrine and the guild invite popup appears. I always hit ignore player and report him, but it doesn't seem to actually do anything.

I already know exactly which guild(s) the OP is referring to. I even accepted the invite once to tell them in their own guild chat to stop. Yet, here they are, still spamming away. I truly hope you guys actually follow up on this and prevent it in the future. *fingers crossed*

I think the guild is setting up new accounts knowing the account doing the spamming will likely be banned. When I joined their guild just so I could tell them to stop the bot doing the inviting was only level 16. And ya, I knew exactly what guild this post was about before I even opened the thread.

This has been going on a long time and is super annoying.

Being at 5 guilds does prevent additional invites, if that helps.

^^^ This is the only thing that worked for me.

I'm pretty sure I know which guild the OP means, because I was in 5 guilds but then dropped out of one, and immediately got repeatedly hit by whispered invites to a certain guild. I joined for a time, but they kicked me for not measuring up to their strict membership requirements-- particularly the one about joining their Discord and maintaining a certain level of activity in it-- but then they just kept spamming me with more whispers despite having been the ones who kicked me!

They have multiple sister guilds with different focuses and slightly different requirements, so I joined two or three of those because the requirements seemed less strict, but I was still kicked for not measuring up and then got bombarded with more whispered invites. It would have been funny if it weren't so annoying.

And replying to the whispers did not do anything, because rumor has it that the character whispering the invites is just a bot, and if it isn't a bot then it must be in "offline" mode, because whispering a reply never gets any kind of response. Apparently the only way to get an actual response is to join their Discord and post a message there, but that still doesn't stop the spam coming from the invite-bot.

I finally joined a random guild that I kept seeing zone ads for, putting me back at 5 guilds and stopping the spam.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I'm not going to join 4 more guilds just to stop these invites. The one I'm in has everything I want in a guild and I don't need or want to join another.

Something really needs done about this guild, but it would help a lot of we had an "auto decline guild invites" option, like the one we have for duels.

I know there are add-ons that would help but this should be a feature all platforms can utilize.

Based on my experience earlier, I fear the guild in question may have moved to Vulkhel Guard wayshrine. They really need to be closed down.

Players were complaining about this in Grahtwood zone chat today after being bombarded with random unsolicited guild invites. Something really needs to be done about this.

there is one guild that starting with a g that uses dozens of bots to spam invites and if you ask them to stop they threaten you with mass report. I have reported a few for spam but i think its something that needs to be handled with a bigger brush stroke. they stay off line so its hard to report as well

This issue has not been addressed. This one particular guild continues to abuse the invite system. Does ZoS have anything else to add?

I've noticed that when the heat is on the one spamming guy from that guild group who's been mentioned here, he "disappears" his spambot accounts* for a while, and another guild member takes over the invite spamming temporarily. Right now I see the guildmaster every day by the Vulkhel Guard wayshrine in Auridon. My guild slots are full and I use No, Thank You!, so I can't receive guild invites, thankfully.

*BTW, this guy uses multiple versions of that account/character name to hit people with, so if you block one, he can still get you with others. He does that trick a lot of dishonest botters and other TOS violators use to make it difficult to report them. The trick where you use capital "i" or "|" to look like an L. He may also be using punctuation such as underscores or dashes, or possibly spaces that most people won't notice, to differentiate between accounts/characters. I've got multiple but nearly identical versions of his account names in my block list, but I'm not logged in right now to see all the differences between them. ESO won't let you block a name it doesn't recognize, so these are all actual accounts.

EDIT to add: I know the rude person hanging out at the Vulkhel Guard wayshrine is the guildmaster of at least one of that group's guilds, because I did some "espionage" a few weeks back. I deliberately accepted a guild invite from the main spammer on one of my alt accounts, and every day for the next week, that guildmaster would harass me in DM's to join their Discord or join in this guild event, or introduce myself in chat, or a half-dozen other things. It was rude and pushy and ceaseless, and I never once responded. I stayed in that guild solely to make them do the work of kicking me out again when they realized I wasn't gonna join the Discord. :) ALSO in order to take screenshots of the member list and their active character names, so I know who to block, avoid, and warn others about in the guilds I actually like. :)

I can't understand what they are trying to accomplish. They have built up a very negative reputation and have become a joke in the community. But then maybe that is what their goal is.

It's got to be a scam of some sort. There's no other explanation. They may be pushing malware in their discord server or using their numbers to manipulate some in-game or add-on system through volume and guild numbers (TTC maybe?). They may have some guild policy designed to drain a small amount of gold or crowns from their members to the officers.

The only thing I'm certain of is that there's something shady going on, because they've put a lot of work into creating a system with no obvious benefit to themselves.
