Feedback on new maps

Hello all,

I just wanted to give my honest feedback on the PvP update, specifically regarding Battlegrounds. I spend a majority of my PvP time in Battlegrounds, mostly only going into Cyro if I need something specific. The reason being is that I feel like the overall performance in Battlegrounds is a lot more stable (less of a lagfest) and the limited player number and objective-based maps allows for more creative builds and playstyles. It's fine if other's do not like Battlegrounds as much as Cyrodil, but I happen to like them more.

Let me first get to the NEW maps: They're... Fine for Deathmatches and Chaosball specifically. The fact they are pretty small and simple forces the two teams to be engaged in a tug of war. I'm not sure if I am a fan of the new Deathmatch rules, but I will have to play around with it a bit.

As for every OTHER Game Mode that ISN'T Deathmatch or Chaosball, the new Maps are just flat out worse. The new maps are incredibly small and simple, which may work for Deathmatch, but is bad for every other objective-based game mode. The old maps were large and had a lot going for them. Their size and layout greatly rewarded players who had map awareness and were good at predicting what the other two teams were going to do. Rotating to different objectives in modes such as Crazy King or Domination was part of the game, and the large map size meant there was a fair bit of risk and reward depending on your ability to correctly predict the opposing teams' movement. The new maps DO NOT have this element.

This would not be anywhere near as much of a problem if the old maps were not removed. This is a big issue in and of itself: why were the old maps removed? Why did it seem like a good idea to remove content? Why not simply add the new maps and keep the old ones? Did people really just dislike the old 3-team format? While I could take or leave the 3-team format, I never found it that bothersome. It was a bit more hectic, but it added another layer of strategy. Returning to my original point of predicting team movement, a team could move around the map in a way to manipulate the other two teams. A 2nd place team could both theoretically and in practice climb to 1st place by tricking the other two teams into focusing on eachother. Again, more hectic, but another layer of strategy that I personally found enjoyable. It simply begs the question as to why these maps were removed outright.

I feel like it would have been better to make the new maps restricted to Deathmatch and Chaosball, while leaving the old maps for Domination, Crazy King, and Capture the Relic. THAT would have been great.

That is just my 2 cents. Feel free to chime in and express your thoughts.

EDIT: Slight grammar error in the 2nd to final paragraph.

I'm enjoying the new maps except for players shooting and healing from their own spawn zones, which should really work like the Cyro town or IC safe zones, where no interaction is possible at all.
