I get banned anymore.

[snip]

Seriously it’s been weeks where the tavern has always been against me and I haven’t had 6 coins or a combo on turn 3 in weeks.

Game is broken. I’m actually considering leaving for good.

It’s rng, I love tight matches where I lose because the tavern was fair and both myself and my opponent had to think. But when I am winning 45-32 and the tavern throws 4 mora action cards in a row on my opponent’s only last chance to stay into the match…. Or the games where amazingly I turn on my last card choice a harvest card for my opponent to get 6 yes SiX times in one match…. It’s rng mate.

Humans are notoriously bad at evaluating our own performance. It would probably help you to post a video of a few matches.

The concept of human bias may be appropriate if it wasn't so obvious that the game RNG has issues.
    Don't tank

All card games do. But 3 weeks of straight bad luck could be indicative of some other issues as well. Or it could be an issue of insanely bad luck. Only one way for others to know.

I know that I used to think this game was more RNG than it was until I asked for and received some tips.

That's why one should be cautious of picking mediocre or unnecessary cards from the tavern.

To highlight screwed RNG I had a game this morning. I cleared a Kwarma mine on turn 1 as I know they have a ‘tendency’ to rock up in multiples. Opponents turn he turned another one, giving me a shot at stupid RNG and what would you know. Turn 3 of the game after I took the Kwarma Egg mine another 2 showed up one after the other giving me 3 in one turn on turn 3 allowing me 13 coins…… but sure like others have mentioned it’s not RNG I just need to git gud….

If issues occur like duplicates, patterns, unfair shuffles, stuck going second, or just bad RNG in general, I've learned that you just need to stop playing ToT for the day. Not sure how much of this is chance, RNG seeding, or even a possible background system.

The Hlaalu contract card repeat (and other contract cards repeats) is a well known issue or feature by now. If I see that, I'm likely to immediately stop playing and let the RNG "settle" for a day.

maxxiestackhouse is a good player on the PC NA ladder and probably not making common mistakes.

I am taking your advice and just playing to level rapport for Zerith and that’s it this month. Won’t put effort into ladder until next month.

I've personally found that losses come in pairs way more than I'd expect.

I recall a few posts here where people are disappointed that they have days where they lose A LOT.

I've also seen, when tracking the leader boards, that even players with decent win rates around 70% will have days where they lose over and over. I'm talking about over 1000 points in losses.

It's possible that we all have a bad day. The only way to not have a really bad day is to stop playing after a loss.

I’ve quit playing ToT now, but I used to be a player who was consistently at the top of the leaderboard each cycle on my server.

Just want to give some input that I experienced this exact same thing!

Sure, maybe it’s all just rng, but my losses always came in groupings. And in those games I would have incredibly bad luck. Who knows but if this is happening to everyone then it may be more than rng.

I think bad days are normal for even the best of players. It's when people tell me they can't win after weeks or months that I think there may be a skill issue too.

Some players having 70% winrate but bad days tells me that RNG plays a factor but if you're overall skill is there, over time, you will consistently win. But when the RNG gets bad, it gets really bad. And it's impossible for even the best players to overcome. This is likely because some cards are poorly balanced.
