As the title says. I'm hoping this doesn't get moved to housing since that thread is pretty quiet...

I'm converting my sword singers redoubt house into a custom deadlands inspired house for guild purposes. I have a ton of the black basalt rocks from Clockwork home furnisher to make custom caves and walls, deadland wide walls, floors, ceilings, etc. the layout of the house is nearly completed.

My biggest request though is tell me of any and all things you know of deadlands / daedric, fire themed, dark themed etc., any filler ideas, things to put on the walls or make as decorations, clutter ideas, even what pets / mounts to put around. what special effect furnishings would be cool (example, i have the firesong lava spout furnishing on some walls / ceilings to make it seem the house is near an active volcano / lava)

after roaming around in the housing tours and seeing other players houses... holy molyyYY are people so creative and detailed and WOW. the custom statues and wall decors blow me away, how do they do that?!

I would love for any ideas really to get the gears spinning on what i should put in the house. If there are furnishings of the same theme from achievements or antiquities, please let me know as well as where or how i can get them.

If this info is needed: there is currently a cave entrance leading down the steps of sword singers' entry door, a large kitchen / bar area, another cave tunnel leading to a deadend above the large hole in the middle, a long hallway leading to another large space, library, and 2 bedrooms in the lower section of the house. The actual cavern with the blue crystals underneath is closed off to conserve furnishing space as well as the large hole in the middle, there is no way to access the prompt.

Thanks guys : )

Not really decor, but the two Leyawiin chandeliers with the coals give off a more red/orange tone than some other lighting. Since the gold and design of them is a bit too fancy for the deadlands vibe, you could hide them in ceilings/walls/floors to give a warmer lava-esque light effect throughout the area where you might like it.

I find UESP to be a great source of ideas, here are some links that might help you........

Oh and if you run short on spaces I believe the "boulder volcanic plug" is much bigger than the "boulder basalt slab" it's 500 gold from Vivec Home Furnisher, it is however far less smooth, one side of it is better than the other though. :)

Edit:- to add Hlaalu Salt Lamp(crafted) has a red setting, Crimson Shard of Moonshadow is a great red light source and Replica Cursed Orb of Meridia also has a red setting.

Edit 2 :- The Antiquity window Vampiric Stained Glass might also be of interest, lead drops from Harrowstorms in The Reach

    Some quick pictorial hints.

A size comparison between the basalt slab(on top) and the volcanic plug

An example of building with the volcanic plug, the entrance to my Doomchar Plateau

Statues can be great space fillers and are brilliant for hiding lighting in!

Sometimes unexpected items just work together, in this case the Lava Spout and a couple of the crimson antler corals!
