A big problem with the Skill Styles and its concept

Alright, so I was with a friend of mine at the Infinite Archive when I used the meteor skill from the Mages Guild. I casually said, "I love that orange explosion the meteor makes when this skill is activated."

And he asked, "Orange explosion? I only see a blue meteor!"

That left me pretty frustrated. I mean, I went out of my way to get the Skill Style, spent a lot of time farming for it, only for the skill to have almost no difference? (There are differences, but compared to what I see, it’s minimal).

And this brings into question all the Skill Styles that ZOS will sell from now on. I mean, I’m going to pay for a skill from the store, and while I’ll know what I will see, I won’t know what others will see? This really alarmed me!

The effect is greatly reduced. Really, significantly reduced. I’m really feeling cheated by this :/

NOTE: His graphics are set to maximum, with everything enabled, including extra ally effects.

I mean you really have no control about what other people see on screen. There are add-ons that let people hide the whole group. There are in game settings that reduce what people see as well.

Cosmetics are mostly for your own enjoyment.

The point is that it’s a cosmetic in an online game. The minimum expectation is for that cosmetic to work for other people too. Especially if the person in question made sure to enable the option to see ally effects.

It might be that meteor itself is bugged. Blue barrier, blue radiating regeneration, purple illustrious, and purple wall of elements definitely are visible by other players.

You completely missed the OP's point...

Yes, cosmetics are for your own enjoyment but also to show off to others what you've earned in game. Let's not act like this hasn't been the case for many years, no matter the game you play.

Yeah, maybe it’s actually a bug.

If I had to guess: some will come as Golden Pursuit rewards or in the Crown Store, which is why they haven’t been announced yet.

I wish we could have the option to turn off styles from other players. I don't mind that people use them at all, I just want to see the original colours on my end, especially in group content.
