[REQUEST] Revise DLC furniture plan drop rates

For crafters like me who like to craft their own furnishing, furniture plans are one of our key targets for grinding.

The thing is: farming the new plans with all the base game ones already learnt is really really hard as it seems that the DLC furniture plan have not enough drop rate bonus with respect to other furniture plans.

I am currently farming and out of the many tens furniture plans I farmed since update release I only got ONE single new furniture plan and maybe 2 others from the DLC zone. (I leave out the furniture plans with a single source like the golden Dwemer Glas Armonica furniture plan).

I really suggest (again) to increase drop chance of DLC furniture plans within their zone with respect to the other furniture plans.

PS: To be honest I have the impression that drop rate of DLC furniture plans were actually decreased with respect to before the patch...

The update just came out. Are you expecting to find all the plans within the first couple of days? Not very realistic in an MMO tbh.

That being said, I do think the drop rate of base game recipes and furniture plans should be lessened in the newer zones compared to the new stuff. It does get tedious farming for plans, but that's the name of the game; Longevity. Maybe not one that we all agree on, but one that lives on and extends our time spent in the game.

I would like it if we only received furniture plans we don't already know and after that the drops are random. It is tiresome getting the same plan over and over again and missing just one plan from a collection.

No, I am not expecting it. Show me where I said so.

That is exactly what I want and what I have requested. I don't need to fill up my khajit or dunmer furniture style portfolio just to obtain one or two of the DLC styles

I didn't say you did, I'm just inferring from your post. That's what it feels like you want. No problem here. I get it, new stuff comes out and you want to play with it. It's totally fine to want the drops to feel more tailored to that zone, and feeling less like you're in a base game zone. I agree. :)

The ratio of base game plans to dlc zone plans is much too high. The prices of purple zone plans just keep getting more expensive each new chapter because they are so hard to get.

the day the next chapter is relased you can buy blue and purple gold Road DLC plans (except structure drops) at writ voucher vendor - or then in guildstore real cheap - so just wait a bit

get all the greens when the DLC is fresh and new and during zone event they cost close to nothing

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Faustina_Curio

and you can get ALL DLC plans that way so all previous DLC and Chapters are available at the writ vendor - so no, they are not expensive or hard to get and collecting writs is not a big effort

Duplicates you can sell and buy the missing ones for the gain

only exemption from this is Vampire but they covered that with additional drops in Azanders Vouchers

Writ vouchers are expensive because they cost often expensive materials...

Of course you can get these too from farming but you may also need them for actually your equipment or creating the furniture.

And yes, furniture plans drop in price with time. But please consider that many players if not the majority don't have huge bank accounts so something above 10k hurts.

If you buy with writ vouchers you have to wait a whole year to be able to do so, problematic if you are trying to decorate a new house in a new style. The purple plans have not significantly gone down in price either in that time frame. The so-called randomness leaves little to be desired as well.

The drop rate of the new DLC plans isn't the issue, so much as the fact that the loot pool is sooooo incredibly watered down with the sheer number of plans available. I could have sworn that there was supposed to be some sort of minor bias towards plans that were native to a zone, which in theory would mean that a zone plan would have a slightly higher chance of dropping in said zone. For instance, Murkmire plans should have a slightly higher chance of dropping in Murkmire, than the rest of the plans in the loot pool. Is that working? Hard to say. All I know is that at this point it's not worth my time to farm for specific plans because the vast majority of my drops are for vanilla trash plans that I don't need.

Beyond the issues raised of the loot pool and horrible rng for new DLC plans, whch I fully agree with, I wish zos would look at giving us some options to obtain them by oh... idk... actually playing CONTENT IN THE GAME?

Opening containers repetitively for hours is not content. Although the rng is still pretty bad in IA, I at least appreciate being able to obtain those plans from an actual activity.
