BG match finder is broken

You have to lunch 3-4 BG to have a true match, you wait 5 min for others players, they don't come and you have wasted your time waiting for nothing.
Remove this condition and change the 5min to 1min or you will loose a lot of players. This is frustrating. Thank you.
@ZOS_Kevin I am counting on you to let the team know the issue. People already talk about it in chat game

And if you leave it is 30 min penalty.

I guess the Intern who worked on the code saw that teams very often had a missing player and decided to make the time 5 minutes hoping that someone will join. But when the code does not work the time does not matter

I'm on PC/NA and tried to do a 8v8. I got into a match fairly quickly, but it was 7 players on my team and 8 players on the other. There was a timer of 5 minutes waiting for more players on our team to begin the match. After the 5 minutes went by with no one joining, the BGs gave us this message and booted us all. Absolutely perfect job here ZOS. I am seriously glad you guys went through rigorous playtesting to make sure problems like this arised!

I'm on PCNA and 1 player is holding up the entire match for 3+ mins. No backfill.

Form 3 games 2 of them you just have to wait.

PC NA Competitive queue had four players on my team and three on the other at the start and they didn't get a backfill for five minutes so it was aborted.

My other matches have had people leave and get a backfill so it's not that the system doesn't work at all.

Pceu 4v4 one, one of the team might never fill same as everyone else reporting.

Problem is, they are waiting to put someone in your games with ≈ MMR, if they didn’t tack that on the 8v8, you would be able to instantly backfill every time.

I commented about this being a problem in PTS, yet here we are. So excited to share this experience with our console friends.

That is not actually the problem.

Had someone in my team leave during the wait and that player was immediately replaced while the other team had a free spot for over 3 min that didnt get filled.

And if someone left during a running match they were also refilled almost immediately the whole time.

Its most likely that if someone declines the queue they just dont get replaced at all.

While that might be a bug, MMR is known to be a burden on queue-times in PvP.

They specifically stated that they are tightening up on MMR during the livestream leading up to the update.

That throttle was already a major problem before the Battlegrounds update, yet they made it stricter, expect to see 20-30 minute queues in a month or two.

im on an ESO pvp break, but am keeping an eye on the BG updates here because its a big change and i know itll need some tweaks. Since they had to put time into it im hoping they will keep their attention on it until the next patch and help it out some.

in the meantime, Ive been playing HUNT showdown and they dont require filling a match when the queue is sparse, so i dont wait more than a few minutes for a match on US East. The main mode is intended for 12 players [4 teams of 3], but ive been in several matches way smaller than that. think like, 3 solos or 1 duo and 1 trio - just so they can pop you into a match. you can queue for a trio, a duo, or as a solo. its pvpve so its not quite the same situation but the point is eventually they just load you into a game instead of making you wait for ages.

i dont have to wait half an hour to get into a match ever - no matter which way i queue. 5 minutes or so. maybe a little longer sometimes but its not often.

maybe they just need a 4v4 queue for groups. and 5+ queue with a timer - so you get 5-8 people per side? fill up teams of 4, and in x minutes even the teams out - remove the last one to queue after Y minutes so the teams are even and jump into a match? so you can have a 5v5,6v6,7v7,8v8 instead of a huge disappointment of not playing?

Just following up here. We have been able to reproduce the issue on our end have been working toward a fix. Just wanted to let everyone know that this is actively being worked on.
