Could someone make an add-on that simplifies surveys?

Collecting crafting mats from surveys seems unnecessarily tedious. I've been playing for over 11 years, since the beta-days, and the most frustrating activity in ESO is completing multiple surveys at a single location. It makes no sense to ride to a survey node, dismount, harvest six resources, re-mount, ride an undetermined distance away, return, dismount, harvest another six resources, re-mount ... and repeat ad nauseum. We desperately need an add-on that allows one to collect mats from ALL surveys in a single trip. With our attention frequently diverted to useful in-game events, it is easy to accumulate a dozen or more surveys for the same harvesting node. I'd gladly accept a fixed number of mats per survey in return for the time saved repeating the same steps over and over again. More quests, boss batles, group activities and events, plus less time engaged in monotonous, meaningless tasks - seems like a win to me!

I very much doubt someone could make an addon to do this - addons can only do what the API allows.

ZoS would need to change how surveys work (which they should do).

yeah this is something thats not really possible with addons

when you get to the survey location you have to harvest each node individually, no addon is going to be able to do that for you
    plays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

In STWOR you could send out the companions to do harvesting. Perhaps one of the companions could have a perk that does the surveys.

To ease survey harvesting would be awesome and there have been some good ideas on how to realise it ingame such as a hireling-like scenario where you so-to-say send your companion out for a certain number of surveys and time and recieve the result in your messages. Of course, your companion would not be sent out and seen collecting physically. Survey time and amount could depend on your crafting experience and/or exploration level regarding Tamriel. Let's hope :)

My personal fantasy was having the collection area extended by the number of surveys you have for that spot. I'd so love to harvest a field of rubedite ore. They always remind me of strawberry jelly.

give a man a fish and he will be happy for a day. give him a video game and he will be happy for months, maybe even years

AddOns cannot control what the server does. And updating the overland world with new harvest nodes is controlled by the server.
Thats why you need to ride away: The server updates the data and sees you got another same survey, checks if you moved so the overland can spawn new stuff and does so then.

We cannot move, use skills etc. via addons and we cannot control any other server tasks via addons.
A summary of what addons cannot or must not do can be read here for example:

Thanks Baertram, that explains a lot. I naievely thought you could just go to a survey site, click on an node, check inventory for the number of surveys, and multiply the yield by that number. I guess that approach requires action by ZOS to change the code for this seemingly reasonable solution. Any bets on that happening?

Chances = 0, as this would need to change server code as explained.
I bet it's done that way by good reasons (if not performance than for security or fail-safe-ty).
