That still doesn't answer the question why.The maintenance banner's been up since Friday (with a link to the thread explaining the reason for the maintenance), so there was plenty of time to be notified. And missing only one day of a non-ticketed event isn't really the end of the world.

Also good for you that losing 1 day doesn't bother you, clearly it does bother other customers. Let. Them. Complain.
Hi all. On Wednesday, October 16 beginning at 4:00 AM EDT/8:00 AM UTC, we will be bringing down all ESO megaservers and the ESO store and account system for regularly scheduled quarterly backend datacenter fixes and updates.
We anticipate the megaserver maintenance to be complete by 12:00 PM EDT/16:00 UTC, and the ESO store and account system maintenance to be complete by 12:00 PM EDT/16:00 UTC. We will keep you updated on the progress of both.
- PC EU maintenance/update time occurs during the week and coincides for when most people are at work or school, college, uni, etc. or at least should be! so the game is up and running for when they are back home.
What do you mean 'should be', I have been retired for 14 years now. No doubt quite a few more are retired as well. That's apart from others at home with ill health. Then there is those that work shift and can only play in the day time. The list goes on. As a matter of fact it seems there are plenty playing in the day on the EU server.
Maintenance has long been a bone of contention on the EU server. A feeling of them and us so to speak. Then there are the times when it all goes pear shaped when you will be lucky to get any game time in at all. Such comments just don't cut the mustard, sorry to say.
PC EU, not PC NA. What gives?@ZOS_Kevin Now that the maintenance is over, I noticed the Group Finder and Home Tours being disabled:
Maintenance is understandable. Times .not so much.
From a business perspective : An on-line game that is not on-line = no revenue
1) Determin the dollar earn average translated to sec.,min., and hours with-in 24hr.
2) Chart the mean time between revenue sales to determin to largest gap between sale.
3) Factor cost of adjustment
4)Move off-line schedule to lowest dollar cost/gain/loss average from above data
In my opinion: The NA server should be down as little as possible when the EST (east coast) and this include eairly morning.
Players may want to log-in before work.
Just a thought.
