but weird, was in game before, all was good...then some minutes too long afk, they kicked me out, now always get the message above

If you're in-game when the account system maintenance starts you're good but leaving, for whatever reason, requires a login. And that is not possible to do during this type of maintenance.

Chek you ID and Pswd.
PC-EU can log in during this maintenance

Edit: Works ID + Paswd and Steam launcher.

What you can't is login to account section of eso web page. But I could login to game.

I still cannot log into game. Tried changing password but I get the same error. Tried both PC EU and PC NA. It has not worked all day for the last ~12 hours. I logged in yesterday everything was fine.

I CAN log into forums, account page and my password checks out.

I CAN login to XBOX NA.

I didn't have any issues at all today on PC EU - starting at ~9am US MDT and continuing through various logins/logouts/re-logins for about 6 or 7 hours.

On satellite.... I also don't have any lag etc other than normal for satellite. Caveat: I don't do group content or pvp.

UPDATE: I finally got in. I changed my password again.

I removed the spaces and @ symbol from my password which were present in both previous passwords. Best practice is a pass phrase like a sentence or something that is longer than 16-18 characters. Whatever they did with the Store maintenance seemed to dislike my previous passwords.

Taking a stab, I think it was the spaces. The password change guidance says punctation and the word spaces are left out. I have had spaces in all my ESO passwords so clearly something changed. I am not sure if @ falls under punctuation.

I'm also experiencing this issue.

@ZOS_Kevin , would you mind checking with the team about this? If @colossusx hypothesis is correct and this is caused by a change in what characters are allowed in passwords, would you be able to find out if this is the intended behavior? Thank you in advance!

Well... my passwords on the EU accounts have nearly everything from a US specific keyboard - EXCEPT spaces (and that's also true for the US accounts). I just don't generally use spaces in passwords.

This morning i tried again to log in, got the same login error like yesterday.
Thanks god i could log into my account on webside now and changed password, cause i read the hint above, already thought someone hacked this.

My old pw also had empty spaces between words, was this the problem? How can that be, never had problems like this before.

Well whatever with the new PW i could finally log into game and see now my characters again, pew

Wanted to chime in, i could not log in this morning, had to go to work in the afternoon. got home and after reading some of the above, changed my password to remove spaces and now i can log in. Had to change 2 accounts, i feel sorry for those with multiple accounts that use spaces.

would be nice if there was some documentation explaining this new change.

I had the same problem and had to change my password to not contain spaces. I had already changed my password today, but put spaces and it was accepted with no error on the website. They need to update that if it is intentional
