Hey, so I don't know if this has been posted about before or not, its an issue I have had probably since the Necrom celebration event. 50% of the time I port to a different zone (or enter a delve) my previously active companion fails to load in with me. I get a little notification in the top right of my screen along the lines of "currently unable to summon (companion) please try again".
This has been especially annoying for when I have been trying to build up rapport or skill lines for certain companions, as I go and do the daily quest with them active, but then when I return to hand it in they have been dismissed (many a time without me even realising they are gone before its too late), thus not getting rapport/skill line progression.
I have also noticed as I main on a Sorcerer with a 2 pet build that sometimes I have exactly the same issue but with my pets being unsummoned (sometimes not even both of them but just 1). I also noticed that if I port with both pets + companion active then I am more likely to lose my companion than I would be if porting without pets summoned (again though this isn't always the case).
I did originally wonder if this was an addon issue, however after playing both on my laptop and steam deck (both with no addons) I have had the same bug occur multiple times. Again I wondered if this was an internet connectivity issue, but likewise it has happened on other devices on different internet connections. On the topic of connection and lag I've noticed increasingly within the last month or two that my game is much laggier and slower to load. Pets and companions often rubberband behind me. Changing costumes isn't instant anymore and can sometimes take up to 10 seconds of waiting. Porting animations sometimes don't appear, etc etc. But my ping and latency both look to be fine until they suddenly spike!
Has anyone else had these problems? Can you tell me if it is actually an issue on my end, or if its to do with the servers (I play on PC-EU).
Thanks!
Let’s have some fun this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick.
