[SUGGESTION] How to cleverly balance Magicka Sorcerer

Simply adjust the Expert Summoner passive. This is how it is right now:
Increases your Max Health by 10% if you have a pet active. Increases your Max Magicka and Stamina by 10% if you have no pets active.
This is how it should be:
Increases your Max Magicka and Stamina by 10% if you have a pet active. Increases your Max Health by 10% if you have no pets active.

Take some of the magicka from S+++ tier magsorc and give it to F tier petsorc, who does not have a heal on Ward and lacks slots for scribing skills. Magsorc goes to S+ tier, Petsorc goes to D tier. Everyone's happy.

    Very pvp of you, in pve pet sorc is better, at parsing at least, and this passive along with other sorc changes over the past year is precisely about increasing non pet sorc power without also increasing petsorc power.

    All of MagSorc's damage can be blocked or roll dodged, if you die to them it is always your fault.

    A good ESO player only dies to AoE DoTs, like Wall of Elements

    Or the ground dot portion of Stampede. That one always gets me. But not the direct damage part! I block it 100% of the time.

    I'm kidding by the way. People always used to say that and it wasn't even true, Curse wasn't blockable.

    But now it is actually blockable! So I'm hesitant to be sure MagSorc needs too much nerfing because and only because we're in such a ranged meta. I mean DK is probably best played ranged even, maybe not but it seems that way.

    This new proc set, that does this massive 40% Crit Resist "steal" off a gap closer, might mix this up a ton. Sure Sorc might use it to great effect but not at 28m+ as it currently so imbalancedly cuts through the opposition.

    MSorc is the best ranged damage dealer, probably always was. It's always going to be OP when ranged is this strong versus melee. That's got to be addressed before we can assess whether the class is OP.

    As was the case with DK and the ubiquity of Undeath causing the ubiquity of the Flame Damage Taken Penalty.

    Sorcs were not always a pet is best class.

    Sorc with dark magic and Sorc with lightning should be of equal viability and dps as pet sorc.

    Balance.

    I should have known that the topic would get flooded by...people who only do pve. After all, who is crazy enough to play pvp as a petsorc when you can just lose the pet and become a god?
    Does the pve crowd can prove with numbers that adjusting the passive would have a meaningful impact for pve magsorcs? I find that VERY hard to believe, considering that you won't be stacking max magicka for pve the way its done for pvp.

    You're getting these kinds of answers because the issue in PvE is that it's the opposite of PvP. Sorcerer with pets is the only viable build for Sorcerer in PvE for both Magicka and Stamina specs. Non-pet Sorcerer is awful. This change just makes Sorcerer DPS with pets even higher than it already is while making non-pet Sorcerers DPS even more awful than it already is.

    As usual, the answer is they should just do separate balancing for PvP and PvE, but they won't for some reason.

    Even in PvP I don't think the proposed change hits the mark. Non-pet sorcs would become tankier (due to extra HP) and pet sorcs can always switch to Regenerative Ward (which still heals, even with pets) instead of Hardened Ward.

    Places where 10% more max health would actually help my non-pet sorc: PVP
    Places where 10% more max health would actually hurt my non-pet sorc: PVE

    All reversing the passive would do is make sorcs even more tankier. Great, my 35K health sorc is now almost 39K health, and instead of 55K mag I have 50K mag.

    Not to mention, this change to the passive was literally implemented to provide damage for non-pet sorcs in PVE. And even then, it still doesn't actually offer a whole lot, but it is better than 10% health.

    Also, what do you mean "does not have a heal on ward" with pets?

    Just run the other morph that always heals. It is setup to be run with pets.

    We should let the pvp balance burn so we can kill mobs 2 seconds faster. I can only hope that when the nerf hammer comes for God Tier Magsorc, poor little Below Bottom Tier Petsorc manages to evade it.
