Today the community event starts - I have a question

As far as I understand doing the zone dailies in West Weald will count towards the bar for today's community event.

What is not so clear for me reading through the announcement:
- Would ALL three zone dailies count to the overall achievement or one one or do I have to do ALL three to add my contribution?
- Would the zone dailies for all my characters count towards the achievement or only for one character?

It doesn't really matter. Zos will decide on a whim what 100% is and guess what... we won as always.

The fact that there is not a precise number of quest to complete to akieve the max reward should give you a hint.

Do what you need to do to get the tikets and that's all.

Any daily counts, and any character can add to the pool
Realistically though, nobody cares. There's no way that anyone would deal with the PR nightmare of coming out to say "oops, you all failed!" after showing the rewards, and the rewards are all already in game and viewable in the collections menu. We will be getting to 100% no matter what, so you don't have to burn yourself out to make contributions.

You do get boxes for dailies though, so go for it. But don't try to burn out on the game thinking you need to carry the whole server.

Do we have to do anything to become eligible to receive the rewards (other than owning Gold Road)? Or can we just show up later and claim all of the rewards without having to do anything. >:)

The latter. If you don't want to enter the Weald but get the rewards, you can. They also usually promote the Chapter as well so you can pick it up the day before the event ends and still get the reward.

But again, you do get event boxes from dailies, so there's also no reason not to do some at least.

Well that's good. I've already completed all of Gold Road, I don't care about doing daily quests, and none of the rewards from the boxes interest me.

So I'll just let y'all grind out dailies and work on the event progress. And when the event is over then I'll claim the free rewards. Thanks for everyone's hard work! :D

Well to be fair, I've helped grind every other "community goal", but in the end all that extra effort never mattered. So now I'm gonna take a break and let others grind some. I might do a couple daily quests just for some tickets, but that's it.

I'll figure out the easiest daily to do on my lowbie account, up to 10 tickets on both PC megaservers (for the onyx indrik pet), and then get back up to 12 tickets on both, then I'm done.

You and Denver are talking about two different meters.

The main event got to 100%.

The bonus meter for the Explorer’s event got to 77%. And we didn’t get all 8 days as a result, only 6, because of it.

Whilst the WW zone dailies will give event tickets & rewards, it is the new daily to collect Ayelid stuff that will count towards the meter.

Though the Wood Elf quest giver is annoyingly vague as to where you get the damn things.

I did a re-read of the event announcement and the event page. Both left me more confused than before.

In my localization (German) it says that only the special quest where you have to collect Ayleid stuff counts for the rewards whereas all other repeatable West Weald quests count for the prolongation of the event.

    Is this correct?

    If yes:
If I do the special quest on several characters does each single one count towards the rewards or only the first one I hand in?

Explorer's celebrations do not have meters, only the chapter celebrations do-which was what it was, the bonus meter reward was to run an explorer's celebration for 2 extra days. We still got to 100% and "won" the main and got an extra event. That's why I said it's a PR event. Guess how long the explorer's celebrations usually run for...😅🤷🙄

ZOS explicitly characterized this particularly instance of the "Explorer's Celebration" as a separate "bonus mini-event" that began "when the Heroes of High Isle event end[ed]." It had its own meter, which was filled during but which was independent of the Heroes of High Isle event.

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/heroesofhighisle

"Shut down High Isle’s volcanic vents, and for every 25% of meter progress, we'll run the Explorer's Celebration for two days, starting when the Heroes of High Isle event ends on October 11 at 10AM EDT. This bonus mini-event will go live for every zone in Tamriel, so get ready to tackle these volatile world events!"

So yes, the Explorer's Celebration had its own meter during that event, separate from the Chapter celebration meter. As it will for this one.

From my understanding, ONLY the quest with Gandrinar contributes to the bar for the rewards filling.

The BONUS event for the Explorer's celebration seems to be the one that can be filled with other quests within the zone.

    About the reward bar:

"The Fallen Leaves of West Weald in-game event begins Thursday, September 26 at 10AM EDT, and it will run until October 8 at 10AM EDT. During the event period, when you complete the unique daily quest titled “Fallen Leaves of West Weald,” you will progress the primary meter. Check back daily to see the community’s progress. To complete the “Fallen Leaves of West Weald” quest, find and bundle Ayleid Relics by adventuring within the West Weald zone and deliver them to the Wood Elf researcher Gandrinar. "

"Throughout the event period, you can acquire the new daily quest, “Fallen Leaves of West Weald,” available from Gandrinar, located outside the Skingrad Impresario’s tent. To complete this new daily, collect lost Ayleid relics, bundle them, and bring them back to Gandrinar. Doing so will grant event quest rewards (and on occasion, some additional lore about the region’s ancient rulers), in addition to progressing the Fallen Leaves of West Weald meter, found on the event’s official page. "

"Search for ancient Ayleid relics within the Colovian Highlands to unlock special rewards for all Gold Road Chapter players during the Fallen Leaves of West Weald event. Do your part to seek out lost knowledge and check the community's progress and unlocked rewards below."

Explorer's Celebration (which usually starts filling AFTER the main bar is done):
"Complete quests within the West Weald zone during Fallen Leaves of West Weald to unlock additional days of the upcoming Explorer’s Celebration event, starting October 8. The more quests the community completes, the more days of bonus gold, XP, and more everybody will enjoy! "

Not trying to add to any confusion, but "complete quests within the West Weald zone" sounds like it might mean any of the zone quests, such as delve quests (not the repeatable dailies but the one-time quests for each delve), zone storyline quests, various miscellaneous side quests, etc. And just to be clear, this is with regard to the Explorer's Celebration event progress bar, not the main event progress bar.
