The Group Finder.

Its good, like really really good. I was able to get Turning Tide and Crimson Twilight fully sticker booked because I didn't have to wait in a DLC queue. I just go in the dungeon with the beam me up add-on and have the LFG running while starting solo.

90% of players are DPS role. That is fine, but no one plays tank. So, you play as a HA tank that can taunt and self sustain. Problem solved. There is little to no use for a healer role in normal dungeons. Having the option to select 3 DPS during group creation is so good, because most players will then see the filter of you are running the dungeon and join. Even if its just 2/3 players the whole time, I can still complete the dungeon and get the gear. The same can be said for trial groups. I can actually run the ole craglorn trials and get gear. To everyone I played with this weekend, thank you.

Of course, the delisting and phantom groups are annoying. I do wish the LFG stays active even after the group is full because players would join and then leave while killing the group finder during a fight. That is really the only cons. Good job ZOS and see you soon for gear.

Yep it's an excellent tool for forming groups. ZOS did really well with this.

It would be great if it the random dungeon queue had the same options. That would probably eliminate all the fake role and speedrun complaints because you know exactly what you're joining beforehand.

I tried to use the group finder to form a group for farming the mythic lead in Coral Aerie. I stuck with the usual role restrictions but before we could find a tank the others left. I guess I should have opened it up but I have only run that dungeon twice I think and was concerned about needing a tank for it since it is a more recent dlc dungeon. I guess I should have done as you did. It was one of the pledges that day so I thought there would be a lot of interest but there really wasn’t.

I really wish it worked on PC-NA but it is almost always a ghost town. It is kind of weird really.

No matter how often I check, there's always a run listed by the same person with 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 dps. But the group never fills, never seems to go anywhere. It just stays listed perpetually. There's a few others like that too that perpetually list with the same, incomplete composition and they never seem to do anything.

I've tried listing my own groups, they never fill. Or if the do it can take an hour or longer!

Guilds only seem to want to do veterans with people who can faceroll and so learning new trials is something I rarely get to do and I find that so frustrating that I'm preparing to leave. I had hoped the group finder would relive this problem but for me, on PC-NA, finding trials seems to be futile. Over in GW2 and WoW I can find PUG groups within minutes of logging in but in ESO, PC-NA, large PVE group activity is hard to find.

Yeah its unfortunate, but given player don't want to run a lot of DLC, being a solo build is a must. It makes farming things less painful. Coral Aerie is probably my favorite dungeon and I also do the secret bosses to kill Z'Baza afterwards.

I would try to friend friendly players and see if they are willing to help you. You would be surprise. Good luck.

Vet content is harder to find people I will admit. I should probably clarify this worked better for me on normal, but you could grab a friend and go at it until someone else joins maybe? Personally, I beg my friends in discord to run vet stuff because I know we can crush it no problem.

For trials, I have been able to get groups together a lot easier and faster. Sometimes the trick is to join another group as a tank and ask they do the trial you want after. I do use some charisma for players to be "charmed," and then friend the ones that were cool. Its not the best system in the world, but a major improvement for ESO. Hopefully it can be better optimized/or better rewards for completing veteran. GW2 though...I don't know what time you've played at, but I could never get a full group :P

I don't do groups, at least not intentionally - the only time is if I stumble across a bunch of people doing a WB I want to do.

Pro tip: I learned recently that you can do the entire dungeon solo, including the final secret boss (I had assumed that would not work due to the pad mechanic, as I had issues with people not understanding it in 4-man groups). I did it on my HA Oakensorc with a tank Bastian and got the lead on my first go!

The hubby and I might try it then with our companions. I guess I have nothing to lose now. Thanks for your post.

OK, it took me a while to gather the courage to try this. The hubby and I, with our two companions, did enter normal Coral Aerie and, with the help of UESP and their maps, find all of the secret bosses and get the lead. Yay!

We died a lot, namely because my Bastian tank kept dying to the first non secret boss. It was a bit rough. Also, the hubby is not a high dps player. He is getting better, but is not fond of full two bar rotations and bar swapping. I was in my glass cannon arcanist for maximum dps. We did persevere.

Thanks so much @flizomica for your encouragement. I would not have tried it without your post.
    :)

Yeah the group finder is a good addition to the game.
Not a top priority for the game, but I wish the descriptions were allowed to be longer, and I wish there was a toggle for english or no english or language doesn't matter.
I've been using it for IA lately, both listing my own group and joining others. But I never know if I get into a group with someone who doesn't speak enough english to answer if we should do random portals or not. I really prefer doing them, so it's info I need to join someones group, which means I ask when I join, and some can't answer. Then I'll either have to leave or just go on (and I hate inconveniencing others, so I usually stay).
If I knew that it's a non-english speaking person, I could just not have joined and saved the hassle.
I don't expect every group up to suit me, but it's much more fun when they do, and longer description + idea of language to communicate would help with this.

I was able to obtain the Mage Slayer achievement last night from Aetherian Archive thanks to the group finder. The group I had was not perfect, but they all listened to me and we got it done. I do hope to see some small tweaks to the group finder such as a refresh button to get rid of the delisted groups.
