Thanks for your reply! I've been curious as I've spent a lot of time in my life searching for rarities on markets and in thrift stores. Mostly books, though. Occasionally things like statuettes and candelabras.@Syldras | PC | EU

There are always lots of people dressed like anime characters at ours, but the displays are more traditional Japanese stuff, like pottery, books, calligraphy, t-shirts, and even koi fish. There are taiko drummers and martial arts demonstrations too.

This does sound entertaining (and appropriate for such an event)! I can only recall a friend being slightly shocked about the one in my city (several years ago, though), telling me it wasn't more than just anime merch, a few manga artists (not even Japanese ones who came for the event, but local ones) selling and signing their books, a few Japanese food stalls (average takeaway quality), and a few stalls with Japanese candy which are available in every Asian shop in town anyway (although strangely one rarely sees the teens who are most crazy about this stuff in such stores... if they knew they get the things much cheaper there than in non-Asian-run speciality manga/j-pop/cosplay import stores...) - it was slightly questionable why one should pay an entrance fee for these things.
Ah, anyway. There are still enough antique stores, fairs and markets here that also sell Asian antiques.@Syldras | PC | EU

Oh yeah, I would enjoy that too if we had the option. We did have a Japanese band that played there for many years until two of the three members passed away. They had koto, percussion, and shamisen. It was so peaceful listening to them play.

Do not fear. This one is well and Fishmas lives on.
Clan Claws took a family holiday to another land. It was intended to be just a weekend but well .. two years later we are mostly still there with some new friends too.
Keep Fishmas alive in Tamriel while this one takes care of it (and five potatoes) on a distant isle. Fishmas belongs to us all, wherever we may travel.
Taterway Claws and the rest of the family send their good wishes.
