What does it have to do with 99% of games if the post is only about MMOs? Neverwinter, Destiny 2, LOTRO, SWTOR and similar MMOs. And it's not that the game is cheap, but that it costs anything at all, if they sell it for the price of coffee at the airport, it's not easier to make, it just looks ridiculous. It would make a lot more sense to make the basic version free, and attract more players
That's why only you and OP are in favor of TESO being free and all the rest are not.
Also, you clearly haven't read @thorwyn post and clearly you haven't read @TaSheen and @Reverb posts neither.
Please read my replies more carefully before saying things that don't exist. Also do not need to speak for everyone, the people in this post are not all players who are in the game, so 99% sure that there will be those who are in favor of making a free basic version of the game
As far as I'm aware, everyone so far posting does play the game. Unless you are speaking only for yourself.
[@Dragonnord - this person IS the OP.... just for info.]
Ty TaSheen, more on my favor then (only one person in favor then).
And OP, when I say "all" of course I mean the persons posting here, but I suppose you know how polls and surveys work...

Unconditionally you may be against it, but that doesn't mean you're right.

ESO is the most expensive game I've ever purchased. No other game even comes close, especially when you factor in the diminished content and inexcusable performance issues.
the base game costs €/$20, about 8 on sale.
this post is about the base game so then i am confused how this is the most expensive game you have ever purchased

Game's plenty cheap enough on the frequent sales.
An easy work around to this would be a progress-gated chat permission.
Wouldn’t even need to be anything crazy, like complete 10 quests.
10 quests is leveling a bit and doing some crafting dailies. Also, imaging legit new players not being able to chat in game right away and ask for help. Not a good solution IMO.

Comparing a paid game to a f2p game is like apples and oranges. You speak about the f2p games but, you don't say anything about the b2p games such as New World or Black dessert online, I own both by the way. Eso has a lot more to do in it then just running around and killing. They bring out something new every year, can't really say that about f2p or some of the other b2p games out there atm. Leave ESO alone. Their setup works fine for this community and others who want to join it.

Because we're talking about free MMOs or where at least the basic version of the game is free, no need to change the topic of the post. But since you are talking about paid ones, new wold it dead game, here even ask money for an unfinished product and a product that is poorly supported, Black dessert online is a Korean simulator of farming for the sake of farming. Bringing these games is probably stupid, especially new world where DLC costs as much as the game itself, but that's another topic. So you're probably comparing apples to oranges here, changing the topic of conversation a bit.

You have to compare TESO (a paid MMO) to paid MMOS.
So it's you that are comparing apples to oranges.
This is an example of famous MMOs and their distribution as an example (free-to-play or free basic edition), it's already you who changed the meaning of the post turning it into a comparison. So don't change the meaning of my words and compare apples to oranges by saying someone else is comparing them.

So just because you say we can only compare TESO to free MMOS we have to do that and we can't compare TESO to paid MMOs that it's what in fact TESO is?
Every single person here is telling you why it wouldn't work and you keep bashing. I know, I know, just because they say that it doesn't mean they are right. I know, I know...
TESO is a PAID MMO and I'm glad it remains that way.
You are the one making the comparison, from my side it was an example (for information comparison and example are not the same thing). I also answered those who gave some arguments (read carefully before writing) why it may not work. Of course that eso is a paid MMO but all I see in the discussion with you is only a negative view and passive negative manner of speech (or you have such a manner of speech and you do not suspect it). In any case, my opinion is that ESO should be available to everyone even if it will be any restrictions as in other MMOs (this is an example, not a comparison).

Why? There's quite a bit of player overlap between BDO and TESO, also GW2, which is free with many restricitons, even in the base game.
Personally, I'd prefer the bots to have to pay at least $5.00 every time they need a new account. If that is too much of a barrier to entry for people, then maybe ESO is not for them?

Plus you have to buy "any race any alliance", plus you have to buy greymore for mythics, summerset for jewelry and now gold road for scribing. And if you don't want inventory bottleneck, add to that $15/month for eso+. If you want to swap factions, that's a $25 token from crown store. Then there are the dlc's. Those cost extra too. Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood cost extra. But wait, there's more.....but you should get the point by now.
FelisCatus wrote: »This is a very BAD idea. You will open the game up to even more bots.
My point was that everyone in this post is not all the players that make the online game, but only a small % of the 1%. And @Dragonnord talks as if this post is about ALL of the online game and speaks for everyone. And about the OP, what are you talking about? What does OP mean in your mind?

No it doesn’t. The game has already been free before on PC. And Playstation and Xbox require a subscription service to be online. The cheapest PlayStation sub is $80.
Dragonnord wrote: »I already have to pay for Internet Service just to launch ESO.
Come on! You would have Internet Service anyways. You don't have Internet only becasue of TESO.
Otherwise, with that reasoning then, you have to pay for eletricity in your house, buy a PC, a keyboard, a monitor, a mouse, buy or rent a house or place where to put that stuff under roof, etc., to play TESO too.
Come on!
