Detect Pots + Cloak

When doing Nightblade PvP, when i am in cloak, other nightblades can pop a detect pot and see me while they remain in cloak. I believe this has to be changed so that for the duration of the detection the user of the pot cant get invisible, as well. Because other classes have shields, heals or passives for armor and block, etc. but nightblade does not, but for that the cloak ability.

There is a counterplay when you see a warden coming at you from distance when you are in cloak, but there is not when another nightblade comes out of nowhere when you are in cloak yourself and you start the fight already at execution range, and have to hold on for 16 seconds, and your opponent can cloak any time you fight back but you cant.

By the way, since we are talking about the detect pots, how is it fair that there is no eye symbol on top of the player when the pot is consumed? So, how it is now, there is no indication if any of your opponents sees you or not, while you are in cloak. You never know if anyone is using detect pot or not, in other way if your cloak is useless or not, you never know.

Imagine sorcerer never knows if the shield will come up when casted or templar is not sure if their heal will work, and they press the button, they see the shield/heal pops up, but it does not and they get no indication about it, it just doesnt feel right.

Cloaked means just that. Why should it be different because the player they are approaching is another NB? If you want to detect another NB use a detect pot just like them.

First off, there is an eye symbol that pops up over people’s heads when they consume a detect pot or use an ability like Mage’s Light. You’re probably just missing it.

It feels a bit disingenuous to say that there’s no counterplay when you don’t know if someone is detecting you when the issue with Cloak is that there’s almost no counterplay when someone doesn't know you’re there and about to attack them. Detect pots are there to balance out inherently unfair gameplay.

Also, you mentioned that there’s counterplay when someone sees you and you know it. If you mean fighting back, then congratulations, you can fight well enough to not need stealth in the first place and your point is moot. If you mean running away, not really. You move slower in stealth, everyone has a gap closer or speed boost, and detect pots have a range of like 43.5 meters.

If an invisible NB pops a detect pot, it means they got close enough to you to know you were there. That means they’re close enough to catch you regardless of whether they are in stealth or not.

Is the other NB somehow preventing you from popping a detect pot as well? (Disclaimer: this is a rhetorical question.)

No, then I can't gank you! Nothing sweeter than playing my NB and ganking one lol.

    - If your enemy consumes a detect pot, you dont get to see the eye symbol on top of them when you are in cloak. Feel free to try it.

    - And other NBs wait until you get in cloak and not using other skills because you are in the middle of a fight in cloak. And they cloak themselves and pop a detect pot, and they just get on top of you without you noticing them, remember this is a 16k hp one shot nightblade we are talking about, that comes out of nowhere when you are in cloak in the middle of a fight.

Again feel free to try it in actual game, and tell me how you countered that last time it happened and not how you could in theory.

So now the gankers are complaining about detect pots and being ganked...

We have officially come full circle.

NB i play has 32k hp, 25k resistances with 3k crit resist and no proc sets, maybe 5% uptime of cloak, and i dont even have a keybind for sneak.

But anyway, this is my second and also last post about pvp related stuff in the forums, as after reading couple answers i have quickly realised that trying to discuss about pvp mechanics here is being a waste of time really :D

You can also use detect pots. I find cloak too expensive. I don't think stealth is the play style I'm good at.
I changed my Stam NB into a tank with sword and shield back bar and I like it better than stealth. Only thing I miss is the major savagery since dark cloak doesn't have it.

I don't have a detect pot slotted either, but I can just stand there holding block with defensive stance and I can't be ganked like that.

It'd be hilarious if NBs perfect-countered other NBs and everyone in the shadow realm could "see" other NBs. That might actually help bring some balance to the NB epidemic without destroying the utility of cloak itself even further.
