I don't mind working at it, but I'm halfway through level 7 and the gains are like crazy slow... any advice? Thanks!

The most gains come from deconstructing talismans that someone ELSE made (either another character or looted). I broke down and had an alt ALSO start learning Enchanting so that my alt could create Talismans, burning through all my ingredients.... and then my main Enchanter would deconstruct them. Hate to "waste" the glyphs like that, but CREATING them (and deconstructing my own creations) is pretty weak xp.

You could also work with another PLAYER, but then you have to coordinate when you're both online, etc... I am so impatient I just play with myself. With my alt, that is. I use an alt and a main enchanter, I mean. You know what I mean! ;)

Done the same but ran down some sky shards and got minor hireling good long run investment.

Enchanting is slower than any other Crafting skills because there are less items gained from scavenging to take apart.

quite honestly...having explored all the crafting options ( up to level ten) I have concluded that crafting (as in creating items) is not really worth the effort. I get better ( and much quicker), level appropriate items by concentrating on opening Loot Chests.

Getting the Loot from these chests and breaking it down gives more crafting exp then the actual crafting of items. It is indeed an odd system the Developers decided on.

well, crafting is relaxing...else it has little value in the game since there is no true in game economy. It is sort of funny (some might disagree) but the only in-game credits I spent so far are on getting same more storage slots. Later on it will be for a Horse. All other items (armor and weapons) I scavenged.

Thinking of it...(to me) the only truly useful crafting skill is cooking...now, if this is not funny than what is?

So we aren't even out of the pre-release and it is already established that there is no in game economy? That's interesting, especially considering the "later it will be for a horse" comment, which I take to mean that you don't have one yet. I've been playing since release and still have yet to accumulate the 17.2k needed for a horse. In the past day or so that has led me to begin crafting pots and selling looted blues in zone, because I can get 500+g per item that way (less for potions) versus the 30 or so you can get from vendors.

This is a mmo, so the economy is controlled by the players, not the npcs. The npcs are just there to buy the bare essentials from, such as repair kits, horses, maybe some empty gems, racial gems, etc.

I totally agree with you that right now, at level 18, provisioning/cooking is the most useful crafting skill I have. But I'm continuing to level up the hard ones because I'm certain I will be able to sell legendary gear for good money late game, because a lot of people aren't going to want to put in the effort to craft themselves.

Speaking of selling in zone, Im about to turn it off because theres no actual cat, just people selling walls of items.
