Drop rate of golden throne blueprints obtained through stealing

I am currently on a stealing tour since three days where I pickpocket all aristocrats I encounter in Gratwood. I think I must have stolen something around 400-500 items. I have maxxed out quality of items found in CP tree. But neither a purple item let alone a golden one. How rare are these kind of drops? Has anyone a statistics?

Did you get any ink, though?

Neither. A few green blueprints, occasional some minor green furniture. And some gold bags. That's it.

The rareness of certain plans obtained from pickpocketing, including this one in OP, the skooma bubbler, the hourglass, etc., decreased at the same time they redid the CP tree and added cutpurse. Slotting cutpurse does not get you back to the original.

No, I have no proof, none of us does. And some people will say RNG. But I used to farm those extensively on my sneaky Khajiit, and I would bet money the drop rate effectively decreased, and significantly.

Funny thing, just two days ago I wanted to do the achievement in Gold Road where you need to pickpocket a citizen to get an Artisan Tool(I think that's it's name) to unlock the Cheese Press furnishing.

I am really, really bad at pickpocketing and my first few attempts were average to awful, then I remembered there were some stealing related cp's, I hadn't allocated them because I steal so rarely.

I did the necessary and slotted cutpurse, the very next attempt I dropped a Bubbler plan!! 😲
    When people say to me........
"You're going to regret that in the morning"
I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

I have tried these off and on but I can’t stand the boredom of pickpocketing long enough to know if I have spent sufficient time doing it to be successful.

What are "golden throne blueprints"? I don't pickpocket at all, so I just haven't a clue.

There is a Breton throne furniture recipe you can get by pickpocketing nobles in Wayrest. There are other types of throne patters also but don't recall where to go to pickpocket those off the top of my head. Wayrest is good because you can pickpocket the drunks while doing the noble circle and maybe get a recipe for the skooma bubbler thing.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Ah. Well, I'm not into anything in the justice system, and really don't need "thrones" or "skooma bubblers". Thanks for the info!

i do not know the specific nobles in the other two cities that you can steal the golden throne plans from, but in grahtwood his name is dirdelas --- i believe he is the only one that you can steal the gold throne plan from. --- he loops through the ground floor of the tree, at one point he sits down and watches someone playing a guitar, then he walks down the path and again sits outside at the top of whatever bar it is on the tree atop the outlaws refuge entrance and watches another performer, before going into said bar and restarting his loop.

it will actually be a lot easier to get it from him now then when they first dropped and thousands of people were trying to get it.

it's still rare, but it can be done

I've been farming these recently to add to my furnishing plan collection, so maybe my anecdotal experience will be helpful. I actually have a spare wood elf throne plan up on a guild trader, if you're on PC-NA you could buy it from me ;P

Here's a disorganized list of information from my thieving experience:
    • I stop farming for the day when I have enough green and blue contraband to reach the fencing item limit. Doing this I've had a throne plan drop every 1-3 days. My longest drought was getting the first orcish throne plan to drop, and I haven't got the other two yet.
    • For deciding on routes, I found this reddit post and the other linked posts to be extremely helpful.
    • I have the Cutpurse’s Art champion perk slotted but I don't know if it boosts the plan drop rates.
    • I use the zero-detection-radius thief build + vampire's Dark Stalker passive so I can sneak around at full walk speed and not worry about getting hassled by guards if I have a bounty (unless I break stealth by getting caught pickpocketing etc.). The build entails: 5 pieces Night Mother's Embrace (overland Deshaan), 4 pieces Vesture of Darloc Brae (overland Northern Elsweyr), 3 pieces Night Terror (overland Stormhaven), medium armor passive Improved Sneak maxed, champion perk Out of Sight maxed.
    • In general I tried to pick-pick-stab because I heard the plans have a better chance of dropping as the second or third item. Sometimes I'd get impatient and just stab them after they caught me though lol
    • For Grahtwood: Dirdelas isn't the only NPC that can drop the throne but many people find him the most convenient to farm because he respawns immediately after being killed. I didn't have the patience to chase him down so I farmed the nobles in the throne room instead.
    • Re: farming the elden root throne room: there are a ton of nobles here but also a ton of guards and no easy escape routes. The zero-detection-radius build will help not getting seen while pickpocketing, but the guards will still try to arrest you if you get caught because that breaks your stealth. My thieving character isn't a nightblade so it wasn't practical for me to try to escape the guards, so I developed this strategy instead:
    1. Pickpocket nobles in the throne room until I get a green or blue contraband item
    2. Fence the contraband immediately using Pirharri for a small profit
    3. If I get caught pickpocketing and the guard confronts me, pay the bounty immediately to defuse the situation.
    4. Repeat the above until I've pickpocketed two items from each noble.
    5. Ensure I have zero bounty and locate one noble that I can Blade of Woe without being seen. Make sure the champion perk Shadowstrike is slotted.
    6. Blade of woe the noble, and use Shadowstrike's invisibility to chain kill everybody in the room (except guards and essential npcs of course). The chain killing doesn't work if you have a bounty because while the guard doesn't see you commit the murder, they can see you before you turn invisible again and try to arrest you for your existing bounty.
    7. From stealth, loot everything from the giant pile of bodies you have created.
    8. Bring your loot down to the outlaw's refuge to fence for a larger profit.
    9. Wait for the nobles to respan, then rinse and repeat.

I hope this was helpful, happy stabbing!
