RESOLVED thank you-- fun with scribing HELP please-- why isnt the skill showing up...??

Ive scribed the skill, but I can't find the skill to assign....can anyone help- not been a problem ive had before?

(but its a new patch???) And yes I definitely hit scribe- twice in fact, so four ink spent no skill out of it.

It doesn't look like the Scribe button was pressed. I see you're trying to change Magical Soul into Shocking Soul, which would cost 2 Luminous Ink with that configuration, but there's a good chance that the reason you're not seeing it updated in your Skills Menu is because it was never confirmed — you still have the old version of the skill there.

I scribed it twice! Ink was spent.

I was starting a new one from scratch, but all I ended up with was the one from the quest.

It is in my archive, so after I'd tried twice, I clicked again on the archive, to show you that this was the skill I was trying to scribe. So after twice scribing it, it's just in my archive still. Ink definitely spent.

Logged out and back in, still not in my skills.

Could you share a screenshot of your Scribing skills archive? If it shows Shocking Soul above Magical Soul, then you know that Magical Soul should've been replaced with Shocking Soul. Otherwise, if Magical Soul is the only skill at the top, then Shocking Soul was never properly configured.

It's the only one in the archive and it let me scribe it and charged me two ink for it, each time, and then nothing. There was definitely the animation of scribing.

Did you perhaps exit out of the menu too soon? Did you see the text (like this) show up which confirms your ability was successfully scribed?

I've just changed the scripts for this ability and it worked fine. Though, I noticed the Scribing archive doesn't show me the latest ability I've scribed (perhaps because I've used this combination before) so now I'm even more confused what its purpose is.

Regardless, are you positive you saw that? When you look in your archive menu (like mine pictured below) do you only see Magical Soul? If you only see Magical Soul, then Shocking Soul wasn't properly scribed — it should show up in this menu somewhere.

The one thing I'm absolutely dead certain of, is that the ink went down by four. So something happened!

Maybe you didn't go into your "Skills" section of the UI, and click on Scribing then select the skill.

You dont go under soul skills to select the scribed soul burst. Just like you don't go under Dual Wield to select Traveling knife, even though it's a scribed dual wield skill.
All scribed skills have their own tab regardless of the weapon or skill tree the unscribed version is from.

morning, i did everything exactly the same- and this time it worked. So who even knows. 6 ink down for one skill, but hey it worked this am. There were some weird connection issues yesterday, maybe that was it.

The skill does live in the relevant skill site, eg vault skills are in bow, and soul skills in soul.....
