Bow scribing skill 'Vault' now only works half the time in update 43

Vault was basically the only skill I enjoyed using in Scribing, and now as of update 43, a lot of the time it simply won't work. I could be just absolutely mashing at the key to use it, the game registers this as it shows the icon being 'pressed down', but nothing happens at all, there isn't even an error in the top right of the game stating anything.
I have not been able to fully pin-point what is causing this. Indoor areas seem to be hit and miss, and if I'm outside, if there is any elevation behind me, even if tiny, this seems to stop the skill from ever working. This is most likely regarding the 'leap back' it performs.
My character is a Khajiit stamina dragonknight and I have tried both fire and poison damage on this skill to see if it was magicka vs stamina, but the result is the same.
