Winter Blast should have guaranteed healing, just lower damage

Winter Blast is valuable for its ability to both heal and do damage. I get why that might be considered too powerful, but I'd much rather keep both effects if possible.

Healing is first priority - I could switch to Polar Wind for nothing but healing, but I'd like to do some damage as well, given tanks' have lower ability to do damage to begin with in solo content - but retaining some damage, even if it's significantly lower, would be better than limiting to one or the other, imo.

To reiterate, Winter Blast should keep the same healing effect it had before, and still deal damage, but the damage dealt should be much lower.

As a tank, particularly in solo content, it's hard to "back off" from a fight enough to trigger the new effect's heal when enemies are focused on you, after all.

Please don't use PVP as a measuring stick for everything, it sours things for PVE players, especially solo PVE players.

Just for the record, PvPers don't use this morph of the skill and are just as mystified by the change as you are.

I agree that Arctic Blast should have kept the guaranteed heal, though I disagree with the lower damage part of your post. If anything had to be changed, I would've preferred it if the delayed stun would have been removed from the skill instead.

I feel like Arctic Blast was completely fine. Warden DPS don’t need more nerfs, we need buffs. I’m not a PvP main but I don’t think Arctic Blast was doing much for me in PvP, it’s just my heal skill, which means spamming it has me out of magicka quickly. In PvE, for me it’s a DoT and an emergency heal.

Or make it heal if you're under a certain % of health remaining? It seems not helpful to have it be conditional the way it is, because you can't rely on it to do one or the other. Or I guess you're supposed to move away from enemies to heal somehow? And if an enemy is somehow too close, you keep spamming it and die lol. Curious.

Have to throw my two cents in on this one as well-- polar wind was the main self-heal PvE magicka wardens used before this baffling change (at least, all mine did) . Now, instead of being a reliable DOT/AOE, or a reliable healing skill, it's neither. I don't know if I can put it better than the other folks in this thread, but this is a super disappointing change.
