"This size of this patch is approximately 1.9GB." <- Quoted from the PC/Mac Patch Notes v10.1.5 post on the forums.
When I open the launcher to leave the game to patch however, I'm getting a 30+ GB download. Are there any work-arounds? Or is the actual download size for this patch 30+ GB?

✭✭✭✭✭It appears from the way it downloaded for me (over HughesNet satellite) that it truly was over 30 GB. The chapter download for me at appx (I think) ~6 GB was done in under 5 minutes. This one took 40 minutes.______________________________________________________

That's my thought also. I'm considering seeing if @ZOS_Bill will verify that it uses some of the PTS files, because on a limited data plan (the only kind HughesNet sells, and satellite is all that's available to me) it would be better for me to stretch the download - or much of it anyway - across the nearly 2 months of the PTS cycle.______________________________________________________

I do not have any PTS files on my computer.
The download was not 30gb.0 -

One PC skipped over a lot of GB and downloaded the patch really fast (and I have a very slow connection...), the other one currently is not skipping at all and seems to download 35GB, judging by the time spent.1 -

I even didn't noticed about that on 1gbit line and nve ssd.Really sorry for my english0 -

Yeah that observation seems valid from what I've seen too. Some get a skip, some don't. There clearly is an issue of some sort.It is not a 30gb download. Took less than 5 mins on my 200mb line.
While this may be the case for you, it hasn't been so for some of us. And even if skips do happen in fortunate cases, patcher should not be saying downloading 30+ GB.

GuuMoonRyoung✭✭✭✭When you start updating, the client verifies the entire game, but it shows downloading in the launcher, if you keep looking, you will see the "download" is happening real fast and at the same time, disk usage is extremely high, it is just verification, the real download is a small number.0

downloaded it 2 - 3 hours ago, as mentioned in previous comment now the launcher shows "updating" not as before "downloading" and "patching" - it mesures files it will update, not the actuall download. from patch notes it is 1.9(?)gb, with the speed it updated i thought it is less than 1gb.1 -
