Same binary, different exit

I have two accounts on PC, one through steam and one not.

I use the same binary.

When I exit the steam version, the game freezes and "reports to microsoft"

When I exit my 2nd account, the game exits to desktop, no issues - so the odd thing about all that is I use the ESO64.exe for the none steam account, but it all exits nicely.

Anyone else experienced this?

Use steam shortcut for steam games, since like other clients,it uses special token serverside to show it's authorized.Could be exiting,it calls for a release of ID but nothing there,so crashes.

Assuming it was my shortcut at issue, I directly went through steam and started the game, same issue, locks up at exit, need to click quit two more times, ESO not responding window, close/wait, then I close and then reports to microsoft and "game crash detected" window encouraging me to repair my game. However, same binary, ESO64.exe with the same files, on the same hard drive, with none Steam account, no issue with exit.

I don't use Steam, I use the ESO launcher. However, I have noticed recently that on a "normal" quit there's a pop up in the launcher saying that the game crashed.

It didn't, it as far as I can see it just quit, but there's something that suggests that it did not terminate correctly.

Bad coding. I was hoping someone would come up with a simple solution, if you take ZoS advice they would have you reinstalling the game every five minutes, the fact I use the same files/binary for my none Steam account and there is no issue is perhaps what the first respondant suggested, a release of Steam ID or something.
