Is U43 Inspiring a short break from ESO for anyone?

I just don't feel like re gearing. So, I just signed up for an intensive series of advanced archery lessons (IRL) which will take the place of ESO for a while.

Anyone else tired of redoing gear/specs? I see this U43 as a lot of work ... for nothing. Not just nothing, but LESS.

Well IRL will ALWAYS beat a computer game (for now at least). Very jealous! And clearly there is simply NO competition between ESO and real life. So I hope you enjoy! ;)

I wouldn't say a break but since the chapter was lacking content and feels grindy combined with the fact that there is basically nothing new content wise until next year I haven't really been logging in outside of our prog times. I think one of the problems is that when they announced that Q3 and Q4 would no longer be content releases they said they would be able to make big and meaningful changes to QoL and outside of Group Finder I would say it hasn't been the case so far.

The Home Tours UI coming in U43 only targets a comparatively very small subsection of console players and is meaningless for pretty much everyone else (I have tons of friends and guildmates into housing on console and I've never seen or heard this requested by them ever.)

No, I won't take a break. I don't know if I'll need to re-gear until I see what sort of changes actually happen (I really couldn't tell much from the patch notes - I'll find out when I need to kill something I guess).

I always have something to do, so *shrug*.

Nope. I'm not that concerned about U43. My builds were feeling stale anyway and the changes are welcome.

Archery is a lot of fun, enjoy it! I've loved it since I first picked up a bow in high school. I wish I still lived close enough to a range to practice with others. Nowadays I just set up a few haybales and a series of targets in one of my fallow fields if I want to practice.

    bold - mine
How surprising, one is tempted to say...

To give credit where it is due, ZOS has introduced some changes which are a huge QoL improvement, but more often than not, they fail to heed our feedback.

My characters and I are looking forward to U43, especially my necromancer - he said it’s going to be nice to feel somewhat more relevant again. I am mostly neutral regarding the new feature Home Tours. There were several other things I was hoping it was going to be so I’m a bit disappointed about that. But my characters who enjoy the IA are REALLY looking forward to those changes!

There's nothing in this update to attract or repel me, so I'll carry on as usual. I don't play competitively so I've never had to change my build or gear because of an update - although AwA did drive me to abandon 2 accounts and start over on a new account, these days with less time on ESO and more time on other games - although I still consider ESO my long-term gaming home. Even when retired - perhaps especially when retired - there are never enough hours in the day  !

    no.
i am excited for update 43.
    because of:
    - new furniture
    - new houses

    - frost damage for Wield Soul
    - more damage for Arctic Blast, though it's a little weird it won't heal anymore most of the time. i have a heal over time in Burst Soul.

    - house tours seems nice too
And no update really makes me want to stop playing eso, because i have plenty of stuff to do in eso.

Never really touched archive beyond one-Arc runs until recently. Actually quite enjoy doing them now. Not sure how long I could spend in one, but I do want to try a long push someday. Maybe after this update hits.

I'm doing writs and endeavours daily, surveys before work on the days I'm home, then logging out to go spend time in Assassin's Creed 1. Haven't done the Gold Road questline yet or most of its quests (other than delve/PD) and probably won't for a while yet. Still have either 3/4 or 5/6 of the last sets of dungeons not done, as well as the trials released since Rockgrove - but if the last guild I joined starts a trial group in my timezone then I would definitely be interested in that.
The recent change with controller use on PC has made it harder to engage in serious fights anyway - I didn't buy the game through Steam but have to run it through Steam or the additional buttons on my pro PlayStation controller don't work, meaning there's always a significant hitch and lag whenever I swap bars or try to move - as well as having to double press buttons to get skills to actually work, which happened some updates ago. Would have been better if a toggle had been added to the recent controller functionality change rather than force it on players.

U43? I've been on heitus since more or less the start of Necrom, only loggin' in for the log in reward, and event tickets!

Been able to get around to playing a lot of other games now, and I've picked up my journey to play through all the Assassins Creeds again. Finished AC3 last night, now to do it's DLC and Liberation

Inspiring a short break - no. I also don't see why this update in particular should take care of that.
But I wouldn't be interested in whether others see it that way either. Makes no sense in my eyes. Personal decisions.

Archery would no longer be anything for me. I stopped 30 years ago because it was too boring for me. Then I only played handball. But that might not be of interest to other people either.

Guess I'm more or less on a break already since HI being so disappointing, but almost only logging in for an endeavour or a dungeon nights once a week since Necrom which was better but still game is not in a state that I'd call as inviting as years back.

Personally, I think it is good to take a break for a while. I just came back to the game after a year’s break and found that my PVP abilities were inadequate for the changes that have occurred. It has forced me to re-examine my build, skills, and player role to just get back to being a slightly better than average player. This is one game that requires constant improvement and adjustments to your play style to stay relevant and helpful to the other people playing alongside you. You appreciate that mental challenge more after you’ve been away.

For me the new class sets are nice to test, but i am very disappointed with the housing feature. There was so much to hope for and all we got was something noone asked for. Still curious about the new companions soon and the pvp update, but i am prepared for getting nothing now.

I rarely go through and re-gear. It's like chasing a rabbit. The rabbit is always going to get away.

I think the last time was for Oakensoul, and even then, it was not right away.

This game is not so technical in terms of build that people absolutely must be at the top of the pile to succeed. If that is the jelly on someone's peanut butter sandwich, so be it, but this game does not really require it.

I think that "EHT features" have been requested by the community. Having never seen or heard the request just means you are not part of the housing crowd. I'm not, either.

My observation on all of this is that there are probably bigger things they could have done for QoL, even within the housing community, and probably even within EHT. It is like they chose the easiest thing to do, the most low hanging fruit, and ran with it. Yeah, probably not the case, but it just seems like there were bigger QoL things out there.

As for Update 43 in general, they could simply forget to release it and I probably wouldn't notice right away. :disappointed: There is less for me in this Update than any other Update in the history of the game. This includes the dungeon DLCs that I have never done. At least in those DLCs, there was something for the future.

I am someone who treats housing as endgame content. I LOVE housing and I will sink hours upon hours into decorating a house for my character.
As such, I was midly disappointed that the big, new housing feature is really not that exciting.
Housing Tours. Being honest, I make decoate my house for ME to enjoy and as such, I am not too fussed about advertising it to others. I enjoy looking at the houses of my guildmates in the housing guild I am in, but I can just do that already.
I was really hoping for something like gardening plots to grow ingredients, or something like that.

This. I love housing, but I'm not very good at it. As such, I will never bother with this "big housing QOL addition". I hope it makes console users happy, but I'm on PC, and already use EHT for a variety of things (which certainly does NOT include visiting others' houses - I am neither a tourist nor a voyeur).

Right now, I'm just logging in for the ink and then will be done for the month. I'm on break because of the game's trajectory this year and the core gameplay loop not really fitting into my life.

The year got off to a rough start with some of big event fiascos. The anniversary content hasn't been meaningful for me. The chapter was so lightweight and by-the-numbers that it honestly changed how I see the game. U43 isn't appealing either, especially after seeing the Warden changes. I really enjoyed my build, it got me through a lot of content, and that change just upends that. I get that I could just make some adjustments. But without other goals like trials, which don't fit in my life, I don't see why I should.

And really, I'm just not sure what to work towards at this point. Scribing just seemed like a hill I didn't want to climb. Housing is fun, but the real money you have to pay for so many of them ruins the fun. Too much unavailability. The guild trader changes sunk my sales, so that's out of the question now too. The whole "environmental" changes made the game visually less appealing. Just feels like the list of content I can enjoy is pretty small right now. I'm sure I'll rebound, but I'm just not feeling it, and nothing ZOS's doing is helping.

Besides the quick event ticket grab, I haven't been playing since shortly after finishing Gold Road. I don't see u43 as interesting enough, I don't find any new companions that are coming in November to be interesting, (maybe I'll grind their quest out to pick them up, maybe I won't.) The non-Cyrodiil related pvp update isn't enough to warrant any time either.

Other than future events for a ticket grab, which to be honest, I don't know why I will bother, I see no reason to jump into ESO. I have about 13k hours thrown in over the years and can't find anything to show for it besides time wasted. I've been throwing my money at other games and I truly regret paying for a year of ESO+. I'll always stop by out of pure boredom in hopes it grabs my attention, or play the newest DLC content. Until then...
