    Maormer seems like the only possibility for a new playable race.
    Reachfolk too, but they of course look like bretons, or imperial/nord so it's less new.

    Maormer! The Maormer in summerset looked amazing- loved the ears and hands.

    I've wanted to make a Maormer character for years, but have never been satisfied with the look when using a high elf/vampire/blind eyes like many do. Some make really stunning Maormer this way, but I just can't seem to fulfill my vision for the guy I want to make. I want the ears and claws >.>

    I don't want any extra playable "races" as such, but a Faun or Maormer polymorph would be awesome.

    I still think the next race should be Maormer. There's no good reason we can't have them and they're my favorite race... so I am biased. But I mean, a Maormer would still save the world given that their soul got stolen and they need to get it back. I think the argument that a new race wouldn't work because "inherently that race wouldn't do every quest in the game" is weird. You don't know that character's backstory and also, I don't think it's possible for the Vestige to do every quest in the game anyways. We don't all have to be The Hero.

    Well, they can be referred to as dwarves (see: dwarven metal), they're just not short like typical fantasy dwarves.

    Literally listed a lot of races that wouldn’t make any sense whatsoever within the story and quests of the game and then left out the most realistic option which is Maormer. Anyway my vote is none of the above. We can play all the races that are native to every nation on Tamriel. 9 races is more than enough.

    Can never have enough races, would love more non-humanoid races: Lamia, nereid, factotum, dwemer automaton, xyvkin, goblin, imp, yaghra, watcher/pocket watcher, harpy, etc.

    Especially lamia and yaghra would be cool! For new non-humanoid races ZOS could simply not make old motifs work with them, just new ones. To not be tied to having to alter all the existing motifs. ZOS could even release race specific motifs.

    Races are important!

    PS: We also need many more character slots to be able to use new races.

    You can polymorph yourself into a goblin already. :)

    I think some "races" are missing and which would make sense totally such as a Maomer (there are already friendly Maomer individuals ingame for instance.

    Daedra are already playable as polymorphs but like for Goblins they simply don't make sense as now. These polymorphs should be more like lower daedras anyhow - not powerful barons.

    Hmmm, frankly I think it would ruin some of the gameplay, like the feel of the game. If people could run around as Daedra or Dwemer.

    These like ancient special races, or extinct in case of the Dwemer. Same with Falmer/Snow Elves.

    The "Goblin" is technically playable because there is a goblin polymorph.

    Beyond that, the easy and most realistic one to add to the list of playable races is the Maormer (which sounds like they are saying "mahmeh" in game). They're just a variation of elves and we already have three playable elf races, so this one isn't a stretch IMO.

    Polymorphs are really quite boring. I wouldn't purchase one in spite of wanting a Maormer. I'd prefer to create an actual individual with a unique face of my design, not what ZOS picks for me. People that want to make an actual individual don't want a polymorph.

    As for those who say we already have "all the playable races in an ES game"- we are honestly long overdue for breaking that old convention. Dagi and Pahmar along with Maormer should definitely be considered. For one thing, these races already utilize the same base body as some other races so motifs and clothing would still fit them. For another, they are already established as "friendly". (At least some are, when it comes to Maomer.)

    I honestly don't understand why we can't have Dagi at least- Pahmar might be difficult due to size issues, but variations on the theme of Khajiit really do not seem lore breaking. (Neither does Maormer, frankly speaking, since we've already seen some working peacefully within places like the Dragon Guard temple.)

    I'm pretty sure that BGS decides on what races are meant to be playable.

    Polymorphs for pre-existing bipedal creatures and races are the best alternative.
