Feature Request (Switches)

First if there is a way to do this could someone please explain...

It would be nice if switches like these were not just visual animations but actually could be linked to a function such as lighting, animated doors, or in my case I'd like to link them to the gamekeeper trap switches in the Arena in Craglorn.

I know it can be done if you are on PC and you use Essential Housing Tools, I have never tried though and I may be wrong but I believe your visitors would also need EHT for them to activate the switches.....hopefully someone might be able to give more helpful instructions!

Yes, it can be done using the housing tools addon.

Ive done it in a few houses. If other people dont have the addon they can still activate your switches.

Ive used it to control lights, open doors and animate some objects like a portcullis.

I'll just say this though, (Devs) if it can be done with an add-on you should be able to do it with out an add-on.

Well as the author of EHT now works for ZoS, let's hope we will get more features from it in game soon!!

I was astounded to confirm you are (apparently) at least partially right.

My findings indicate (hardly an exhaustive scientific research because I am lazy) that switch links to other objects set up with EHT Actions are usable by other players even if never published to the community server and even if the other player has EHT disabled (and thus can not see any long published EHT effects).

But - the home owner (in this case that would be me) has to be present inside the house. When I was not present inside the house the other player could change the switch settings all they want but the link (to a brazier) did not function.

Have you tried that? Not being present inside your house? I am curious if that can be verified.

When it comes to EHT (even tho' I love it) I try not to assert anything beyond what I have tested multiple times, because it is tricky, and for all that, it may only be true on Wednesdays.
