Either take them out or make them more common.

I had this issue in Blackwood. Try in the Deadlands for an easier time.
    Don't tank

Haha well, I suggest looking at a map of the portal spawn locations online; asking in zone chat; or if you're in a big guild maybe porting to a guildie who's already in one... because zos is going to be putting them in the endeavors all month and is promoting achievements tied to them.

It would be nice if the actual in-game map showed active portal locations. But this isn't a feature included in u43 so we'll all have to make due for now.

If you notice someone calling out a portal in the zone chat, feel free to ask for a group invite, so that you could get through the portal without any problems.

A stupid solution. Require a website to play the game?

Marking them on the overall map, such as how Harrostorms get marked (I think) when they are active.

Running around even knowing where they are is a painful use of time in the game.

If you are in a guild you can search the roster and travel to somebody in one. Atoll of Immolation, is the destination.

Me and my OH were riding around for 10 minutes yesterday searching for one. Both in Deadlands and Blackwood. Then we decided to check and see if we could travel to another player, and you can :)

I have never taken more than a minute or two to find an open one with a rough idea of where they spawn. No map needed, just basic game knowledge of the zone.

Guilds are handy for those, when there is a Blackwood/Deadlands event at least one person is usually in Atoll of Immolation.

the only bad thing about that is you dont know if your going into the blackwoods or deadlands instance of the atoll, as there are different drops for each

they really should have made separate events, or not included them in the deadlands dlc lol

I agree that, as with anything else you're looking for, they never seem to be around when you need them, as though they're actively hiding from you-- and then, the moment you no longer need them, they're coming out of the woodwork.

They seem to be especially difficult to find in Blackwood, but a bit easier to find in the Deadlands. The best thing to do is keep an eye on zone chat as you ride around, to see if anyone calls out the location of an active portal. Ask about them in zone chat-- and if you find one yourself, call it out in zone chat so other players know where it is.

I just teleport to a guildmate or friend who's in the portal already. But yes, I knew from the beginning that oblivion portals should show up on the map. Many overland activities quickly become dead activities, expecting players to call out where the portals are doesn't work.

    Oblivion Portal Endeavour

3 steps on PC without add-ons (hope this works on console)
Only works if you have any guild memberships

    - Open guild roster, click on LOCATION in the table header "Atoll of Immolation" should show for some of your guildies.

    - Port to an active player and follow the zerg

    - Profit! ;)

An online map would be an obvious solution, better if common mapping mods added them.
If your inn, tell guild members your are inn and they can port to you.
Something to do while waiting for the last boss 😺
Always help guild mates if it cost you nothing as you might profit from it later. (its also nice to do)

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

most mapping addons do have them, at least map pins does for sure

this does not tell if they are active or not however

I'm gonna point out the obvious here, but maybe not the most obvious.

You don't have to do the bonus endeavour if you don't want to bother with them.

Click the M button to open maps. Then look for the funnel looking filter button at the top of the menu. Click on that, scroll down to portals and check the box next to it. Now your map will show where the portals are.

If you're on console, consider playing on PC instead so you can have access to these options.

Exactly this, I tried both Blackwood and Deadlands, for about an hour, and didn't find a single one!

Gave up and said to myself forget it, and logged off, I just got 2 out of 3 for that day.

Did you have zone chat open? I ran around for a while but eventually saw somebody in zone announcing where an open portal was.

Or you can just create a group and list in Activity Finder for other to join and before leaving give the crown (group leader) to to someone that are going to stay for next group to join.

On PC there are add on which make it possible to use a keyword for channel (Zone) which player can then use to auto-join themselves into a group, so look in zone channel if there any one advertising a group for getting into this event.

There is no need for map marker for this event as those Portals are meant to be "random" where player might encounter some foes, kill them and have a portal to enter to get to main Public Dungeon.

I wayshrine into the Deadlands and follow the road until I happen upon a portal. It, so far, has never taken longer than 5 minutes to find one.

I have seen so many people complain about these. It's kinda nuts to me. They are giving us 100 seals basically for free.

If you have used a portal once then just try to remember where on map it was and return to that place. It should pop up a Portal rather fast if you do some farming or killing some foes around that spot and then just enter when it pop up. Deadland isn't that large map, so it should not be too hard to have a spot make shout out in Zone map to get more player to join you as a group.

Yeah, I don't like having to go 'offsite' to bludge off others who have done the hard work of documenting a system that doesn't come with any.

The built-in time-wasting is deliberate and insulting.

I think that must be from a map add-on, because I play on PC without using any add-ons and haven't seen that option.

why bother looking for portals in the wild while you can simply find someone in atoll of immolation from your friend or guild list then teleport to player?
