Sorc Issues (pets)

The pets are still garbage.
If the devs intend these guys to be garbage, they should turn them into passive skills instead of wasting our ability slots on their uselessness.
We like pets, but having them hurts our damage output greatly.
It's better to never get them at all.
Sure, an ok self heal, but if we want them as damage, then we want them as damage. Volatile Familiar and Twilight Tormentor should be useful, not utterly useless.
It seems like people've quit complaining about this because it keeps falling on deaf ears.
Familiar's damage should be a minimum of half the damage of Crystal Shard. Similar for Twilight.
Better yet, since they fire once every two seconds, their dps should be our weapon/spell damage, so their damage should be about double our damage. Then again, that would kill the magicka/stamina scaler that's also involved.

The heal used to be great. You'll never guess why it was nerfed...

Most likely because it was great!

I still despise that the preferred variant of Cystal Blast was removed to give a stamina one that is useless to me in all my attempts to try it. (On a stamina sorc of course.)

I really wish I had a true Pet class!

Sorc pets do good damage, and when paired with Maelstrom 2h they do great damage. In fact the highest single target damage by far right now is on sorc with both pets.

I really wish I had a true Pet class!

It used to be more like imbue weapon from psijic order. Minimal cost at 6k-9k damage.
Now it lasts longer and has two shots, but the first deals half damage and the second is negligible. At least they let both shots apply a unique armor degradation to make up for the damage loss.
To really empower your shot, run it with Imbue Weapon.
Crystal Weapon -> Imbue Weapon -> Fire -> Imbue Weapon -> Fire -> Repeat
The extended duration helps, otherwise you wouldn't be able to fire before the first one timed out. This lets us make really high damage shots. If we stack our stats right.

But as for pets, my lightning deals 6k per hit but my pets do only 600 every 2 seconds. They should do at least 2k in my opinion. Their damage is so weak and they are so fragile they it is a waste to use them in PvP.
Maybe change their damage to Oblivion damage if they are to be kept weak, that way at least they can annoy enemy players. As is now they can be safely ignored. Even pve they are lackluster. Just a roleplay thing.
The warden's bear was a right step. It can deal 5k per hit. Vs Familiar/Twilight 600. Again, I think they should deal at least 2k. If both do, that's 4k damage every 2 seconds, vs Bear's 5k.

As is now, it's better to run buffs than the pets. Ok, in PvE sometimes it's good to run Volatile Familiar to area stun and taunt to keep them off you, but otherwise useless. Doesn't deal enough damage. Curse deal three times as much DPS.
Even Entropy deals plenty more DPS than the pets.
Now, Twilight Tormentor can deal up to 1.8k when its secondary buff is active, but it's still not as much as a damage or dot ability. And it only effects targets above 50%.

Also, I just tried my build idea. Total flop. Definitely cannot be used to survive PvP, which was the whole intention.
Channeling mend wounds or meditate while using light of cyrodiil on a high elf.
They bash you once and you instantly die. Total flop. I'm gonna rework that character into damage instead of channeled near-invulnerability. Pets were his main damage. Takes 40 freakin forevers to slay a wolf. Had to actually slap the wolf to take it out instead of purely letting the pets do it. Slapping basically instantly took it out.
Slaps: 3 seconds. Pets only: 45 seconds. Need to retest the pets only because it was unmorphed twilight, and now I have tormentor.
Point still stands. They are so weak they are practically useless.

I still don't have the Maelstrom stave since I would have to be able to handle Maelstron.....

That has been a full block for me on that.
