There's always a lot of complaint going on from players about how the RNG 'drop rate' isn't working for them in the quest for some item or another.
We all know that RNG is some sort of formula that theoretically incorporates a specific 'drop rate'. If we don't actually know that, we accept it, basically because we have no other theories.
Recently, I noticed that these discussions go off in two opposing directions.
When the drop rate is not going Player's way, the comments are 'RNG needs to be changed' because 'I don't get stuff and everyone else does'.
Then, when they do get 'stuff that everyone else is getting' the whole conversation changes to 'my luck changed'.
How can this be?
If we accept that RNG is ultimately a response to 'satisfied criteria' - then we must accept that luck plays no part. Because if we include 'Divine Intervention By The Goddess Fortuna' as part of the RNG formula, then adjusting the formula in any way
still does not guarantee a favourable result. Fortuna may just not like you; or you haven't made the appropriate sacrifices at the correct alter.
So, accept that whatever you are doing is different to 'everyone else' in some way; or rely purely on luck and stop blaming an algorithm for your own bad luck. But combining the two is just illogical.
Good luck!
