Housing Suggestion: Purchasable Add-on to Allow Owners to Specify Landing for Visitors

I'm not sure if this has been suggested or there is a place for suggestions, but there are so many incredible houses that could be "that much better" if we had some sort of add-on to allow the homeowner to specify the place where visitors appear when loading in. This would open up SO many possibilities and opportunity for customization, such as loading new visitors into the landing overlooking the Potentates Retreat lake, or spawning visitors in at the bottom of the cavern of Sword Singers Redoubt for example, the possibilities are endless!

There would have to be obvious restrictions such as the add-on can only be placed on a permanent structure and not a placed object, etc... but I think it would make for amazing opportunities for homeowners

Edit: Apparently I can't edit my post values, so I'll have to live with the fact that I misspelled disagree in my haste to type the post

Sure, I can agree to that. I do have some other questions though because I don't really know enough about housing...

How many attack plants does it take to zero the average player on entering a house?

Is there enough headroom in the average house that death from fall damage can be guaranteed?

Can furnishings be placed outside of the allowable area?

    Do any houses have slaughterfish?

It has been asked for but never added. 😕

Not only would it be great for finished houses but also while decorating, it constantly annoys me running through large houses to get to the area I am currently working on!

Hell if that had been the Q3 update I would've much prefered it to what we are getting!! 🙂

Yes, homes which have water that extends to the horizon will typically have slaughterfish. A long time ago, I used that feature by adding a platform slightly underwater to test my healer's heals against different mundus and other build factors.

Attack plants:- I tested this when these plants were available for seals recently ...... I stood between one of each type, I was dead fairly fast..... so an unaware visitor could easily be killed.

Fall Damage:- Pretty easy to die from fall damage in a lot of houses but maybe some placing limitations would nullify this one.

Slaughterfish:- Yep present in many houses, again placing limitations would offset this.

Don't attack plants have an identifiable attack radius? Perhaps the placement rules would prevent this as well. For the falling and slaughterfish, I think that the rule of "must place on a permanent surface" would avoid both of these. Perhaps the permanent surface would have to have a radius of X meters to allow for "Safe landing" or something along those lines.

Good thoughts though on ways to make it safer

That's another good use of it, that I didn't even think of! Yes, it would be great to access a specific area that you are working on and could be moved based on where you are working on doing deco. I love that use of it

At the least, we should get to choose which entrance to use, when the house already has multiple. E.g Sleek Creek, where I would prefer guests arrive at the door facing town, not the one nearest the Outlaws Refuge.

Or Sword Singers where the door is on the other side of the property behind a set or arches

Agree but depends on the meaning of purchasable. I'm not a fan of crown-only; rather it be like the time changer with options.

As freespirit said, essentially "portals", have been requested a lot. Others brought up the points about landing in unsafe areas with different solutions.

When threads like this come up "let's have feature X for a fee", my first reaction is generally "just give us the feature for no extra cost". The game has more than enough monetisation already.
