So the Necromancer has been out since Elsweyr, 2019, and we all know the state of it in both PVE and PVP
I think many players will agree it is actually a lot to do with the class passives, as mentioned in a thread earlier this year
I noticed Necromancer is the only class with no minor buff in its passives that aids group. The other two “new” classes were given minor toughness (warden) and minor evasion (Arcanist)
Being brutally honest the arcanist’s passives overall trump necromancer in terms of damage at least. So I believe that while u43 changes were needed as a basis, it’s still not enough! The passives need a bit more oomph in them frankly given the added mechanic of corpses for the necromancer.
Stamina arcanist pve supremacy aside, necromancer’s need a new minor buff added to passives to ensure at least one is desired in a group in pve dps, and probably pvp groups too.
On this note, I notice that now since minor brutality and sorcery and savagery and prophecy are basically the same for the group, Nightblade and sorcs, and dks and templars should ALSO be given a new minor buff that distinguishes sorc and NB buff, and distinguishes DK and Templar buff. This should happen regardless of potions changes.
I understand changing all the alchemy reagents to account for hybridisation must be a long ball ache for the devs. That’s less important… the above changes however really should be prioritised over any other combat changes in future patches imho. It’s fundamental to eso gameplay.
I am sure ZOS can think of 3 new minor buffs (or hell even be naughty and give necro MAJOR brittle passive) that will ensure the desirability of necromancer (not just for EC) as well as BOTH sorcs/NBs
templars/DK within the same group.
For necromancer, perhaps minor mangle or minor force are options. New names and buffs were created in past couple of years, so I’m sure the developers can think of something new
Please read this ZOS! It’s the most important topic I’ve spoke about in eso forums
