Class-based gear on character customization?

Since the new tutorial that came with the Blackwood chapter release, the armor previews on the character creation menu have been stuck as Ivory Brigade and Black Fin Legion for a while, which feels kind of out of place now. The one exception to this is Arcanist, which gets the Scribes of Mora style in light and heavy variations. It'd be cool if the other classes could get this treatment too. Maybe the Infinite Archive class-exclusive gear? Or other sets that match the feel of the class, like Horned Dragon for Dragonknight, Ancient Daedric for Sorcerer, Y'ffre's Will for Warden, etc. Obviously it'd just be a cosmetic change but I feel like it would add a bit more flair to the process of character creation, keep it consistent with Arcanist, and maybe help sell the identity of each class a little better to new players.

Totally agree. Or at least change the "novice" and "champion" (or whatever they're named) distinctions. That confused me when I first joined and now it confuses me also because you can wear any motif at any level...

Yeah, the 'Novice Gear/Champion Gear' phrasing is a remnant of ESO on release, it used to say 'Veteran Gear'. The previews were Tier 1 and Tier 4 racial styles, depending on your character's race. Back then there was no outfit system, so getting gear that looked like that actually did involve leveling up. When the Veteran Rank system became Champion Points with One Tamriel, they changed the phrasing, but the concept of leveled armor styles had by that point become obsolete.

    I agree with the OP.

Question: I remember years ago that the look/quality of armours would improve at each improvement level - green, blue, purple, gold. Is it still the case today with all the newer motives?

(I mean a motif style in white gear would look bad compared to the same motif style in gold gear.)

It doesn't make any difference to me - I don't create characters in gear, because I would never use the stuff in the creation window on my girls. If I could completely remove the silly underwear too, I would.
