ZOS you are destroying the PvP of this game....

It doesn't surprise me at all that people get tired of the PvP in this game, with the amount of unbalancing that exists. Between the sets procs, the group balls spamming like there was no tomorrow, the immense lag that this causes and that becomes unplayable, the number of overpower sets that exist and the useless ones that are thousands of other sets, such as They don't even exist to counteract group balls. And a very long ETC....

I am very clear about it and I would like them to do this, no set procs will work in cyrodill, at least so that this is moderately playable, which with so much lag is unbearable, then there would be no problem and it would be even more fun, because It gives you the opportunity to be able to face a group ball, because as it is now, it is impossible to lower their life, not even with 30 siege weapons.

Proc sets have nothing to do with effectiveness of ball groups. HoT stacking is what makes ball unkillable.

Yep, it's the HoT stacking that needs to change to bring ball groups down to earth.

For me, by far, what's killing PvP is the crazy low pop caps. [Snip]

It's insane how long it can take in queue when we have the technology we do. I understand this game code is older so there's that but when you're sitting on 100 plus queues what even is that?

I still say the same thing, if they want to have a more balanced PvP, all the proc sets should not work, but sadly that is not going to happen and people will continue to leave, I see it as perfectly normal

I agree! Ball groups should not be able to move at Major and Minor expeditions unless they build for it. Stacking of heals of the same types. Pull sets need to go! There is no reason for the extra form of CC that really break things when latency and lag hits. Groups all running snow treaders + major and minor expeditions is a huge issue... If they would support this aspect of the game OMG it would grow because it is fun! In small man PVP it's amazing. One reason PVP has issues is that people join Zone Pugs to get their first experience with PVP and they run into a ball group and just quit PVP. Ball groups ignore siege because it means nothing to them. They spam barrier, siege barrier, and have tons of stacking heals. Even with 5 times the numbers a Zone Zerg cannot possibly kill a Ball group, it requires someone to luck up with a bomb and at least 2 negates in an enclosed area. It also takes another ball group to kill a ball group. Im not against organized gameplay, but they balance classes in almost every patch. They need to balance groups in PVP!

It’s not really ZoS anymore, it’s now MS as they own ZoS. Both need to step up as two or three new mmos are coming to console and they have the financial backing of Amazon. I would like ESO to thrive but with the recent changes to the game and how pvp is handled and treated I am not sure how many players will stick around long term with at least two fantasy options coming.

    [Snip]

It’s sad really because that all I hear in zone and game chats that the developers implement specific updates because they are using the over tuned classes in pvp. The imbalance of the game is crazy right now in pvp and it can be resolved by updating battle spirit system. Doing this would greatly improve pvp.

Despite all the projects, tests and "working on it" promises, ESO just doesn't work like it should, and it probably never will.

What kind of player wants to invest their time and money into an unreliable old game that's famously plagued by performance issues, bugs and exploits for so many years?

What kind of developer/company/investor wants to invest time, money and resources into creating awesome endgame content, when they already know it's never going to work as intended?

It's easier to give up on endgame and focus on activities that are more forgiving. Or just focus on other games. Unfortunately that's what's happening.

The only way to make enough people want to play ESO for its potentially awesome endgame (pvp, trial/dungeon/arena hardmodes, endless archive...) again, would be to finally fix performance for good, and ensure that bugs and exploits get caught and removed before they go live. And even if they could achieve that, it would be a lot of work to convince anyone that it will stay that way, considering the game's history.

As long as ESO doesn't have a solid technical foundation, it's doomed to become a crown store casino for questers who are not interested in demanding content at all.

So all the discussions about how to improve ESO with simple solutions to gameplay are pointless in my opinion. Most of the suggestions are not very well informed anyway, and would just create a bunch of new problems.

It's sad, because ESO could be great, and there is so much this game could be, if someone would just provide the resources to fix it.

we play this game cause all the other ones suck even more and we love being exploited.
MMO traffic isn't good in any MMO I've played the last 4yrs they haven't figured out why.

2024 players want massive fights, the sweats still want to harass players in hopes they quit, it's fun for them. Zos agrees, less players in Cyro, the more will get into housing end game.

Zos believes you WILL queue 2-3hrs to play in Cyro so you can get your tickets, because you do. WEIRD!

It's an amazing game. just not PVP.

Hey Zos, let the devs do their job, stop limiting them due to financial pressure

Combat team is clearly checked out. Changes most of the player base have been screaming for go mostly ignored while small, miniscule, and pointless changes are what clogs the patch notes. Really just the bare minimum to keep their jobs.

I would suggest that a coordinated group is the best way to take on a so-called ball group. A bunch of pugs or people who are not coordinated, just in a group, are not going to do well against a larger set of players, regardless of what the other group is doing. That is open world type of PvP 101.

Indeed, a ball group is the best counter to a ball group. Maybe in another decade they'll all git gud and form their own ball groups. Maybe. Some chance they might just keep complaining about ball groups instead.

PVP is something for some "happy few".

You can blame all year long how pvp campaign are empty, the fact is : PVP is frustrating for most of players and they just don't want to invest in it.

I agree, there are pain points that push players away from PVP, myself included.
Despite the PvP event that is ongoing I find myself playing less unfortunately.

I queue for cryo excited and ready to play, but then either
    lag spike happens, or
    tarnished procc happens,
    or ball group bulldozers through.

I go back in maybe one or two times, but eventually just hit the logout button because the excitement is long gone.

Sometimes I am grouped up, but then you are zerging yourself and it is so repetitive that it seems like it does not matter if I am there or not. Generally hop of after a few rounds.

Small scale is perhaps the middle ground right now but you still encounter the same pain points.

    PVP is bad designed, period.

Some happy fews make fun playing around but that's all.

PVP servers are empty all year long till the event, and during the event it's just a noob slayer season. That's the only reason PVP players ask for this event, fresh meat.

If PVP is sooooooo good as some people pretend, then servers should be full even off-event.

This is the first Mayhem event I'm not excited about. I've escaped the dreaded lag and disconnects, but it's just not the same as years past. Long queue times just to have hardly any fights because of the low population caps, C tier PvPers who become S tier by choosing to run in ballgroups which have destroyed Cyrodiil, and ranged proc builds which are probably fun, but just lack sportsmanship due to no risk ever being taken. Cyrodiil is just plain bad these days.

This year I noticed many players simply focusing on where to generate AP instead of actually helping the Alliance win the campaign. I had a small group that was trying to regain control of our town, outposts and keeps but most of the alliance was at one keep because it was being siege occasionally by either alliances. We even went into the opposing alliances and siege at the home keeps. Group spilt up into two smaller groups to pull the other alliances back to their home keeps. That didn’t even work because most of the alliance cared more about defending one keep vs regaining control of the map. This resulted in my group all logging off.

The main campaign is pop locked most of the time outside of the event. And with pop caps of 60-80 players/faction, it's no wonder.

It's ZOS' unjustifiably low population cap that's strangling Cyrodiil more than anything else. Pop caps this low are totally irrational unless some of the snipped comments have merit.

Of course since PvP has so many cash/crown sinks and housing lacks monetization.

Oh wait, it is the other way around since PvP is free and has no direct monetization.

The unbalance has driven everyone with a sense of fair play out of Cyrodiil, and that results in ZOS catering PVP even more to the people who are left, the people who like ball groups and bombing and proc sets. It's a vicious cycle. The more toxicity is allowed to run free, the more it looks like toxicity is what the people want.
