The patch notes for Necromancers are a step in the right direction but...

We have to talk about the elephant in the room regarding a glaring issue that has plagued Necromancer since its inception. Render Flesh, the main burst heal for the class, still gives you Minor Defile. The changes so far have been great, so why not keep them coming? If this tiny effect was removed from the skill, it would be universally accepted as a great change.

It's there to buff our healing. It's a way of getting a debuff on ourselves for the passive Curative Curse.

It can also be used to get resources while Bracing by using Expunge and Modify even without being targeted by an opponent.

When it came out I think it would have been the strongest Class instant burst selfheal in the game without the Minor Defile. I don't think that's true anymore.

I'd say leave it on Blood Sacrifice, take it off Resistant Flesh. It's even in the names, the Minor Defile is the Sacrifice, and with Defile now diminishing Damage Shields - which scale off Resistances- it's now actively Anti-Resistant to give yourself Defile.

I bet hardly any Non-Healers use Blood Sacrifice, both of the Class reasons we've outlined to give yourself the debuff are suited towards a support role.

Why not reduced mana cost? NB' heal cost 3.5k magica and heal same numbers as necro's render flesh which cost 4.3k magica.

Lol what? You're almost always going to have a negative effect on you in most content. Yes, the Defile activates that passive, but the passive basically just cancels out the Defile. If you already have a negative effect on you, the Defile is literally only debuffing your healing.

In pve, you almost never get negative effects on yourself and no, defile doesn't cancel the bonus because the passive buffs your healing done while defile only reduces your healing received (perfect for a pve healer).
In pvp yes, this needs a buff (along with pretty much everything else that necro has), but it shouldn't come at the cost of pve
