Tales needs more basic tavern cards

Currently, the regular tavern is too small, which is leading to lot of games with an excessive amount of duplicate cards. This is contributing to the RNG feel of the game. The regular tavern needs more cards. Not so much you'll never get duplicates or see the deck cards, but just a few more so that they'll be a bit less likely. And cards that are less powerful and one time use can show up a bit more often.

I'm not sure exactly the first time that I've thought one more Tavern spot would be good, but it has been quite a while.

It's just obvious that some games go poorly for one player or another because the Tavern isn't offering anything relevant past the first purchase.

There are also often too many contracts in the Tavern which discourage active play in some ways. Who wants to be the first person to buy a Contract and accidentally reveal something great for the opponent to buy? Sometimes there is compensation for this, but many times there is not. Give another chance for a non-contract to be there.

Because I think that the duplicate card issue is an issue with the games coding, I could see a world where more Tavern cards make duplicate cards more likely. Not necessarily because there are more cards in the Tavern, but because if there is a seed refreshing issue, then maybe that is amplified by more cards hitting the Tavern concurrently at the start of the game. This issue is a nuiscane and I'm skeptical that anything can be done about it since there is probably something at the core of the game that handles RNG. They would be impacting not just TOT, but also leads, loot, and most importantly Crown Crates...

Anyhow, we could go back and forth about the duplicate card theory, but ultimately, yes, more Tavern spots would probably be a good idea. I do wonder why 5 was chosen. Out of simplicity? Out of data? Would like to know from the designers their thoughts.

    Don't tank
