[URQUENT QoL REQUEST] Add filter for "normal" and "perfected" to transmute station

I have just wasted about 120 transmutes and a handful of precious dreughwax on reconstructing golden "normal" armor instead of "perfected" as this appears first in the list. Now I have to farm hardeners again in order to complete the equipment for my build as I have got less hardeners back than I used on them.

I know the error is on my side so I only have to blame myself.

Nevertheless it would be really great to have a checkbox that allows filtering equipment with respect to "normal" or "perfected" level which would help tremendously to avoid this kind of mistakes that cost a fortune.

Normal should simply be removed and replaced by Perfect in the list. There is literally no reason to recreate a normal now that they are compatible with each other (don't get perfect bonus unless all items are perfect obviously).

Reason is a price in transmutes.
Simplifying the UI is a good idea, but not this time.
If I have full normal collection but only 2-3 perfected items collected, I'd rather reconstruct full normal set for 25 per item. No reason to spend 65-70 transmutes per perfected item if I won't get the full bonus.
So the normal ones should be available too, at least until the perfected is full.

Yep, thought of that and I don't mind.

Alternatively unlock in blocks, essentially removing them from the Perfect list, and moving them up to replace the Normal. This means they benefit from the transmute cost but there is a barrier to unlocking all at the cheap price by default.

IE - All body pieces perfect? Then all body pieces move up to to replace the Normal with Perfect.
All jewels perfect? Then Ring and Amulet gets replaced too
All one handers?
All two handerS?
Bow
Shield
Destro Staves
Resto

By the end of it, if you unlock all 176, your list will be nothing but Perfected, with the Normal deleted.

I don’t think this is “urgent” as such but the transmute UI is in desperate need of a rework. Crafting anything from the PvP section, for example, is a nightmare especially seeing how the UI resets back to the top after every creation

Can we just get it so that when you're reconstructing a set the default is to stay in that set rather than going right up to the top of the page every time you finish a piece?

It would make reconstructing PVP sets much easier and prevent reconstructing the wrong set.

Just type perfected whatever in the searchbox at the station,and it'll only show those items.Unless you on a console and there's no searchbox at transmute station?

Does your Reconstruct UI not look like this?

Because if it does you can use that "Filter By" box and type in the name of the set so that it only pulls up the set you want.

Sure if you just type in say... "Thunderous Volley" it pulls up both.

But if you type in "Perfected Thunderous Volley"

If so, this is a non-issue and a player issue. This works for all sets, even PvP so you don't ever reconstruct an undesired set.

yeah i wouldnt see this as an "urgent" request

can use the search, and double check to make sure you selected the right item, really basic common sense stuff

it even gives you a warning prompt as to the item cost (transmutes + tempers) before it actually creates the item as a last chance to back out

And the people commenting to search,
there is no search option on PlayStation/Xbox, i assume the gamepad interface on PC doesn't have it either

That's genuinely bad so for console users we can see the need, but for PC users the filter is there and should be used.

the search option probably isn't there either for pc users who use accessibility mode.

So just mouse and keyboard ui has the search function. probably the majority of pc users but not all.

Just tried it, that's a miserable experience. But I will say though, the clunkier UI does make it where mass creating is harder and I'd make less mistakes spam clicking like I do on PC.

If the devs put in filters, checkboxes and warnings for every aspect of the UI a player may make an error with, it would be unusable because every interface would be crowded with them.

The lesson here is to be careful about what you do and review the details before you reconstruct.

I've done the same thing, but have owned my mistakes and learned from them.

And not just accessibility mode—it won’t be there for anyone using gamepad mode either.

Accessibility mode forces the console UI regardless of input method (and does not require a gamepad to use). Gamepad mode forces the console UI when turned “on” (regardless of input) or when on “automatic” and a gamepad is used. I use gamepad mode for movement/combat but never use accessibility mode. I still see the console UI when I’m using a controller but get the native PC UI when I use a keyboard. The widespread lack of parity when it comes to systems and interfaces like this is why I set gamepad mode to automatic and never turn on accessibility mode. It cuts off features available only in accessibility mode, but it lets me work around the inferior accessibility/gamepad mode experience when it impairs functionality (like not being able to see into a guild bank without withdrawal perms or not being able to pick up a duplicate treasure map when I have one in the bank).

While I agree with the overall point, this would sit much better with me if there weren’t a glaring lack of parity for people using console UI here. There doesn’t need to be every possible option anyone can come up with in either UI, but the options need to be as equitable as possible. Search boxes can and have been done for other menus in the console UI, but they appear to be missing here. And this would certainly not be a one-off when it comes to unequal access based on UI.

Sure - I also admitted and recognized that it was my error. Read intro post please to check.

The title is called "QoL Request" for a reason.

I know that there is a working way around this for those with the search field.

It is just clunky and so non-QoL

I concede that the qualifier "urgent" is open to debate here but I insist that a checkbox or any other filter option for perf gear is a QoL improvement that will help more players than just me.

I hope you will forgive me OP, there is no way you would know how primitive our tools are.

Ah, it’s not that bad but it would be nice to have all of the same features that are in the base game PC version. I understand why we don’t have things that add-ons do, but otherwise the two versions should be the same.

it is a better experience for me than the default pc ui.
with the exception of things like a search function in the Transmute Station and some extra video settings it's the same game.

adding more search functions would improve the game, but really it's not that big of a difference right now.

and the console ui is more accessible to me. im glad accessibility mode got added 2 years ago so i can play the game completely with a controller, unless i have to type.
