Nothing personal. Do you have "forum goldfish memory" as I do?

I have the "memory of a goldfish": I don't know who you are when we argue on forum pages, I generally never keep track of who says what.

I may love you on one page and get heated with you on another in the span of 3 seconds.
Forgive me and please don't take it personally - I have nothing against anybody, I just agree or maybe strongly disagree, but as I change page every word said/read goes blank.

Anyone else unconsciously does the same?
Seems healthy to me... Maybe not for my memory XD
If not, how do you deal with the forum and its people/discussions?
Feel free to give advice.

I think I can remember people and their opinions quite well, if they post regularly and have a relatively individual name (not just "some real world first name + random combination of numbers" - it's an okay username, of course, just not that memorable for me).

Although of course a few are more present in my mind than others, mostly when we had interesting discussions or noticed similar opinions or interests in the past.

I'm kind of the same way. I can't say I've ever held a grudge with anyone here. It's mostly just disagreements about how a video game should video game. There are more important things that need my prolonged ire. Consequently I can completely forget past interactions with other users. I do remember the nice ones, though.

I "know" the people that post regularly. I remember their names, and their generalized opinions. From some of them I actively watch for posts because I respect their opinions. Others, I know because I'm not very fond of them, and I do my best not to interact with them.

The only way I really 'remember' people is if I see them regularly/interact with them regularly.

Otherwise, yeah, I don't tend to remember usernames at all.

On other forums, where you can change your UN (not sure if you can on here, never tried), I tend to end up constantly lost, until one day I go 'oooh, THAT is who that user is! I thought their writing pattern/opinions were familiar!'.

I remember vaguely a couple people, but not exactly what all they've said.

I remember regular posters well but try to respond to all comments in context — I don’t expect to either agree or disagree with any one person all the time! But I will add that if someone regularly makes thoughtful posts I will give their post more thought if I disagree with it because I trust that they have good reasons and I can at least broaden my perspective, even if I don’t ultimately agree.

The only constant with forums is people argue.

If we all sat around and sang coom by ya, what fun would that be?

It would be fun... wonder if we can convince ZOS to have a forum event and let us sing some bard songs... hmmm...

I think I prefer the arguing ;) Just the tone could be a bit more civil at times. But sometimes the discussions do get interesting.

I don't know about that. Our bard songs would probably be constantly moved into different categories, or we'd have our instruments taken away because we sang songs that were too old, or we'd be forced to join a group choir because someone decided our songs were too similar ... ;)
