Does stamina warden even exist in the minds of combat devs any more?
This is not a rant against magdens: I want them to do well enough too and even have a place as endgame dps.
I've noticed now that there hasn't been any mention of dps stamina wardens in class updates. We're in a terrible situation where you must slot a specific weapon (Ice Staff) to do good damage. Any adjustment to the class damage is done so based on the assumption that the warden is using an ice staff which means that all non-Ice Staff builds get nerfed twice as hard as Ice Staff builds.
Prior to patch 35, Stam Warden used to be a very good (though not meta) dps class where you could do good AOE and single target damage. You may not have been able match the nightblade in single target damage, but you could still do an impressive amount of damage in dungeons and trials. Sub Assault could hit hard enough that you could even go with a bow and have a lot of fun with the ranger style of gameplay.
These days, my stamden has trouble out doing my Oakensorc HA build in trials.

If you are outparsed by an oakensorc HA build your problem might be your setup or lack of practice ? Or that particular fight was better suited for a ranged setup.
You can hit up to 130k+ on a dummy with the right setup and enough effort.
True Stamden's are not the beacon of light atm but they are far from beeing weak.

My Oakensorc outdoes my Stamden in actual content, not in dummy parsing. The point I was making was that stamden is a poor man's magden at this stage.

? The next patch changed the passive that refers to ice staves, giving a flat damage boost for DPS. This is a buff for Stamdens. ZOS just needs to remove the staff requirement from winter’s revenge. I still would like to see a change to the chilled passive though where if you have more stam than mag it buffs bleed instead, and then changing morphs around to apply bleed (like the tank’s winters revenge doing bleed instead of frost and scaling off max offensive resource).

Still the same issue, you might run the wrong setup on your stamden or its a lack of experience and practice. The damage potential on magdens and stamdens is about the same in content if played right. Magdens just shine in comparisson becauce the have easier acces to chilled and brittle + they are ranged due to staff/staff or atleast 2h/staff setups. In terms of raw dmg output i'd even say the stamden is stronger.
