reduce amount of campaigns

during the Mayhem event we always see a lot of people come to PVP just for the event, and there are often extra campaigns added so people can play. currently there are 4 cyrodiil campaigns, 30 day CP, 7 day CP, "lowbie", and NoCP no proc. I feel that lowbie and NoCP are effectively the same, theyre designed for new players who may not be as experienced in PVP. As it stands now, there are very low activity of players on either campaign. only during prime time, is there enough activity. With battle leveling changes during OneTamrielTM, I feel like low level players still have a fighting chance in NoCP.

Similarly, CP campaigns are very similar. The main difference is that one is alliance locked, and the time difference. I understand that players do want an alliance locked campaign, although I personally feel that unlocked alliance is better for competition and balance. So if there are a reduced number of campaigns then hopefully that will also promote activity in each campaign. One campaign can stay as is, Grayhost, CP proc enabled campaign with alliance locked for 30 days. Then a new campaign can assume the opposite attributes, an unlocked No cp No proc campaign for 7 days. During Mayhem this can be adjusted as needed.

Objective is essentially to eliminate 2 campaigns that are mostly dead, and lump it with the 7 day campaign to promote more activity on the NoCP server. Currently I feel like a lot of issues like heal stacking are not as bad in NoCP and PVP is enjoyable. Drawbacks to this would be that players on the current 7 day campaign would have to play on Grayhost if they want to use CP and procs. Also, players who main on Grayhost may have to sit in longer queues due to this. Ideally promoting the NoCP campaign can promote more learning environments and testing environments for ESO PVP.

I would also suggest buffing defile to help counter the healing issues, and increase mount speed overall in cyrodiil as it is notorious for being a "horse riding simulator"

next update "no proc" will no longer exist

ravenwatch will once again be back to no-cp with procs enabled

during the pvp events, i like having the extra campaigns, i refuse to try to go to grey host or blackreach as both frequently have 50-100+ queues during the event

outside of the event, i think we are basically fine with 3 campaigns (i say 3 because the vast majority of people are likely using characters that dont quality for the sub-50 campaign)

after the next update we will have: 1 faction locked cp enabled camp, 1 non-faction locked cp enabled camp, and 1 non-faction locked cp disabled camp

which i think should be fine for normal operation

during events we need the extra campaigns so people who want to get tickets arent stuck waiting in 50+ person queues all the time

The only campaign worth playing is GH. Everything else is just PV Door.

MYM is miserable because of the ques. In the old days, you could at least find fights on other campaigns but now it's a blob of PVP Door one color maps.

Reduce the number? Why? So everyone can get stuck in a queue at times? Or make it impossible to even have a chance to find a campaign where your side has control of the daily areas?

By definition, these two campaigns are not effectively the same. The sub-50 campaign is for characters that have not reached level 50 yet, and that has nothing to do with a player being new. The ACP campaign is intended for players who just do not want to deal with the CP. This is for any level payer.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Meyhem, as that seems to be the prime as the OP starts off talking about Meyhem.

I agree there are too many campaigns. There should be two, maybe three: a lowbie campaign and two regular campaigns that allow any set, use CP and are not alliance-locked. Attempting to cater to every interest does not make sense.

Oh, and I am not speaking of how things should be during Meyhem, but for the rest of the year. Added campaigns during Meyhem make sense.

outside of the event we do already effectively only have 3 campaigns if your playing a cp character

i generally tend to ignore the sub 50 one since i dont have any sub 50 characters, and i bet its only a small portion of people who do play there

but the normal 3 camps we have is fine, one is faction locked, one is not faction locked, and one is no cp (BG rules)

The number of campaigns we have outside of the event is part of the total number of campaigns we have, regardless of whether we choose to ignore some that exist or not.

Zenimax has to consider the NO CP campaign when balancing skills, so it affects the rest of the campaigns.

ive done all levels of organized PVP, including organized lowbie PVP on sub50 campaigns. Generally speaking, yes those players are not new. In order to continue playing on this server, people have to constantly reroll since they level out. While sub 50 pvp is fun in its own ways, I think that sub 50 bgs is enough personally. The sub 50 cyrodiil campaigns are never that populated, and while i enjoy it one some level, it has other obvious drawbacks like having to feed your horse in advance. Cyrodiil is already a notorious horse riding simulator. To Darv's point, and we can see happen time and time again, inactive maps are flipped all 1 color and that further discourages pvp. The lowbie campaign is subject to the same issue.

Also, there is some level of mentorship that I think would benefit new players if they choose a NoCP option. while low level players are able to perform in grayhost, new players may benefit from promoting people to play in Ravenwatch instead of rerolling toons over and over again to play in sub50. Perhaps that is not in the interest of the players who enjoy sub50 PVP. To necros original point, Ravenwatch may get more love that all sets are allowed and that may be the change I am looking for.

Still, riding from keep to keep on a low populated campaign with a 10 speed mount is not nearly as fun as battlegrounds. With battle leveling I think that lowbies fighting in a regular campaign is totally viable and not always the best option compared to max level, best in slot etc. So in my perspective the lowbie campaign is just another dead map that could be combined with Ravenwatch which would ultimately benefit the population of other campaigns. maybe people who only play lowbie cyrodiil would stop playing altogether its possible, but i think they would adjust well and find that it is easier to maintain and build their characters.

will it be harder to cheese emp wihtout the lowbie campaign? is that what yall are worried about xD

if your playing on a cp character, the sub 50 camp might as well not exist because you cant access it, so your effectively limited to 3 camps

honestly i think the devs balance stuff without CP, because sometimes theres interactions with CP that become extremely powerful that may not even get fixed for several updates

cp is its own balance point, they arent balancing the skills assuming you have cp, they balance the cp separately from skills
