It's crazy how fast Zenimax moved on from Ithelia

I know that many people were upset about the contradictions to Elder Scrolls canon but I liked Ithelia and she had so much potential. What do you think is the reason they've moved on already?

I gave my opinions on the Gold Road chapter here
I didn't think anything would get me as involved as the Wrothgar questline did but Gold Road actually had me deep in my feelings. I was really hoping for a particular outcome and I'm sad about the way it ended. I guess there was no other way it could have ended though. I kind of wish different choices were made by the writers. Not because they were bad choices but because I wanted to keep the things I grew attached to. So well done on the story this time around. It was really great. Even though I'm really sad now that this is all we'll ever get for Ithelia. :'(

It's probably a combination of factors but I'd say the primary part of their balancing act was that ESO is a prequel to most of the Elder Scrolls Universe. The second they introduced a "new" Daedric Prince, to the story I knew they had to nip it in the bud sooner than later because of how history/lore works. If ESO wasn't a part of the tapestry of the pre-established Elder Scrolls universe we might have seen more of Ithelia.

That said, there's nothing saying we might not see Ithelia in some other iteration in a future Elder Scrolls game, but the problem of having them in a long term role in a prequel is it becomes harder to sweep their actions under the rug when it comes time to expel them from lore again.

She's basically another Dragon Break. A plot device that introduces a piece of Lore to THIS game without it affecting the franchise on the whole.

Yes, I liked her too. A rare non malevolant Daedric Prince. Stupid Herma Mora. But, in the end Ithelia envied Mortality, and that's what she got.

What concerns me now though, is what she left behind. Ithelia's power over Reality still exists, floating aimlessly, forever searching for its Host.

I liked her aesthetics, her story was very weak and I still don't understand what was her big threat. In the end she gave in so easily to Mora. Necrom was such a good DLC with a strong story, Gold Road not so much.

I don't really like alternative-universe-like stories, I knew the whole new Deadric prince storyline was going to quickly get yeeted. Just didn't fit into ESO lore.

    Ithe... who?

They moved on because the she was resolved as a problem and is happily living in Chicago working in a store that sells mirrors.

    Edit... besides
    Everyone has forgotten about her...

I might be wrong about Ithelia's existence but since she's a force, or an idea (?), her absence could create a vacuum that would fill itself. Like the expression, "You can't destroy an idea". So basically, her power could eventually form another Ithelia. But I'm using concepts from our world. Things might work differently in the Elder Scrolls universe. Now that I think about it, it's similar to how Princes can reform daedra as long as they have a memory of them. Ithelia's power is like her memory existing in the world. 🤔🤔🤔
