After the u43 reveal, what do you want to ACTUALLY see for u44/Q4?

Whilst I can see the advantage of the ‘house tour’ u43 functionality, it wasn’t what a lot of housing guildies were hoping for.

Ideally, I’m hoping at Least one of the following is considered to bolster the u43 housing announcement in u44:

- ‘craft bag’ equivalent for (unlimited) furnishings storage. Only with ESO+.
- Ability to deconstruct crafted furnishings (those with a ‘gold’ value)
- Search function added to furnishing creation (praxis) lists at the crafting tables…easier to find specific plans -or- a list of known plans in achievements.
- Dressable dummies (to display collected styles etc)…we have this in Skyrim, so why not ESO? (It’s not like it’s different companies & copyright…)

and no further furnishings updates as we have already got catalogue in U43, remember?
So it is done, so it goes out of sight! :/

No way ZOS will implement a new zone as ICP and Cyrodiil are barely alive.

Worst "feature" : Duel Finder (lol).

At best : a rework of Volendrung artifact and, maybe, new ones to makes Cyro a bit different.

Deconstruction of furnishings seems likely to happen sometime soon. The last few times i bought furnishings packs the furnishings inside the container in my inventory had the text: "This item cannot be deconstructed."
    "This cannot be deconstructed."
    on PlayStation at least.

What i hope for future Housing quality of life improvements or features,
but do not expect it to happen anytime soon:

    ● search function for furnishing crafting interfaces.
with filters for furnishing categories (like Parlor or Suite) and furnishing styles (like Common, Alinor, or Solitude).

    spoilered because of length:

    ● a furnishing plan stickerbook that has a similar interface to the current item set stickerbook.
Sections for each zone with its different styles and it could perhaps connect to the Transmute Station and add another usage for transmute crystals.
Maybe something like this for amounts
    - 100 crystals for a Legendary/Gold plan.
    - 40 for Epic/Purple
    - 20 for Superior/Blue
    - 10 for Fine/Green
    - 1 for Normal/White

    ● Weather Control.
either as a setting in the Housing Editor or, a q4 event ticket collectible furnishing similar to the Sacred Hourglass of Alkosh, or writ vouchers/crowns like the Chronometer of the Tribunal.

    ● Mannequins and Weapon rack furnishings could just be new kind of furnishings in any update but would be lovely.

    ● A modular house? like a house that's designed to be customisable with the option to remove a building or change a path texture.
Seabloom Villa has the toggle for the flowers on its building so perhaps zos will add similar options to future houses.

    ● A furnishing merchant similar to the Luxury furnisher Zanil Theran, but instead sells furnishings of a random category of various styles throughout the week.
or multiple merchants like this throughout the game that sell furnishings of the zone's furnishing style(s).

They could be wherever the zone's Home Goods merchant is.
there's only 12 categories (minus Services as that's just things like assistants crafting stations) so it'd rotate back to the starting category around every quarter.

    edited to add:
i don't have any expectations or hopes for the PvP feature in update 44.

i guess some kind of Gladiator arena could happen?
This year is also the 30 year anniversary of the Elder Scrolls franchise with Arena being from 1994.
and i believe Arena was originally going to have arenas all throughout the continent with teams for each region

    https://www.imperial-library.info/content/go-blades
interestingly the Battleground teams are amongst the planned Arena teams:
    Torval
Welcome to Torval, home of the finest southern wines. Be wary of our team, the Firedrakes however, those who have crossed their path have been in dire straits indeed…

    Helstrom
You enter the city gates of Helstrom, noticing the dark looks the guards give you. You’ve heard of the Pit Daemons, who fight here. They have a reputation of being very dangerous. Perhaps you can change that…

    Narsis
Narsis weaves it web of sleep upon all those who enter, for the Dark Elves of Narsis discourage visitors. It seems however that you are unaffected. The Stormlords hold dominion over this city- state, and the wind seems to whisper their name…

there's no reason we wouldn't get more furnishings as we get new furnishings every quarterly update.

The companions will have furnishings too if it's similar to the previous 2 years(an achievement furniture and a readable letter furnishing after their third quests).

Even the pvp feature could have a few furnishings as well just like the current achievement furnishings from Cyrodiil, imperial City, and Battlegrounds.

I'm wanting a small scale cyrodiil. Something such as 3/6 + 1 keeps in total. Have 1/2 keeps per alliance with the extra in the middle and make it work like a king of the hill mode. All new additions that were meant for cyrodiil should be added to this new mode, such as the other daedric artifacts that never made their way into the game. Cyrodiil can't be fixed, so they should just start fresh with something new.

But I'm sure we're just going to get something low effort like an activity finder for duels or allowing you to duel while grouped up.

with the way they announced the housing feature in finder, and group finder being a recent addition, this seems very likely. a 1v1 duel queue / finder with some kind of leaderboard / top win streak leaderboard.

It's going to be a wild ride in the U44 stream's chat, that I know for sure. everyone get your snacks ready beforehand

The devs have said several times that this cannot happen and why it cannot happen. It's because the number of materials in the Craft Bag is fixed each update, and only gets two or three new things added each update (the style mats for the newest motifs, which have been slowing down), meanwhile there are hundreds of new furnishings added each update so compiling such a list and organizing it would take resources and software that they don't have.

Similarly, the devs have also said that support for older hardware (old PCs and last-gen consoles) is the reason that furnishing limits are what they are and they cannot increase those without ending support for older hardware.

Note that very few requests actually get dev comments telling us why they won't work. But we have gotten comments specifically for these two things. That should mean that nobody should have expected either of them to be "the new feature," and we shouldn't be disappointed that they aren't because - unlike many things - we were told why they were not possible.

Yes, there wasn't much in Q3 and I'd much rather have had two new dungeons again, but most of the disappointment I'm seeing is because people were expecting one of these thigs that the devs specifically said could not happen.

As for Q4, I'm putting my money on a duel finder because it makes the most sense. If they make a big new mode, then the people who love Cyro/BG/IC will complain since those modes empty out and no new players join in. I'm sorry to tell PvPers this, but nothing ZOS does will inspire casuals to go into PvP and get killed on repeat if they don't already want to. Whatever they add for PvP is going to reduce population in the current modes. That means they need to add something that will not really reduce the population of the current modes more than it already is, and only pulling two people out at a time seems like it won't hurt much (except on XBEU where there really only seem to be 10 people total in PvP at all). And Tales of Tribute added the queueing system, ranking system, leaderboards, etc. Give that to duels as well and you've got a new mode. Besides, duelling is already in the game, but the only reward is 30 achievement points, a title, and the ability to buy a single furnishing. Duelling should have more in the first place.

Nothing that ZOS says should be taken as a fact. They told us for years that a new class was not possible because of the same limitations, but look where we are now. We have not only the arcanist, but scribing as well with new skills and potentially animations for existing skills coming in the future.

Q: Will we ever get proper guild halls in ESO?
A: We love the idea of guild halls in ESO and recognize that our community has asked for them since the game launched. We have had many internal conversations about them over the years. The current challenge is the necessary caps. Much like the item limit caps in player housing, there is also a limit to how many characters can simultaneously be in a player home (it’s 25). As with items, these caps are in place to ensure that players on lower spec machines don’t encounter significant performance issues while in player homes.

It is true that they can make things work if they rewrite a bunch of stuff. It is also true that we shouldn't expect them to.

Just because they added one thing that they said they wouldn't doesn't mean that they will now add everything the next update, especially considering that it was probably a massive undertaking to get that one thing in.

If you go around expecting them to "go back on their word," you're going to be disappointed whenever they say "yeah, we said this wouldn't work and it still won't." It's actually much more likely that they'll do something they can do without rewriting a whole system.

they're winding down development how exactly?

that trend has been there since the very start.
assets get reused all the time it isn't special to this game.

Some examples where assets get reused include:
    - Most houses use buildings that exist in towns already.
Most furnishings are assets we see in the world either before or in the update as those furnishings.
Base game furnishings from when housing got introduced were nearly all of course reused assets from the base game.

    - Anvil and Kvatch from the Dark Brotherhood dlc use mostly the same building style as base game imperial buildings.
    - newer example with The Scholarium from this year's Scribing using the Aldmer style from Summerset.
    - some imperials in Blackwood and West Weald using the base game imperial motif
it makes sense as it is fitting.

of course a Duel finder would have similar interface to the other activity finder things and of course some assets could be reused, but that happens as it is convenient when possible.

a duel finder system isn't guaranteed but it sure seems likelier than any other expectations i have seen.
I've seen it suggested occasionally over the years so it wouldn't be entirely unexpected either.

    - Be able to preview leads like you can preview furniture plans.

    - When I save a build in armory the gear should be saved in the armory and I dont have to carry around gear for 15 builds.

And im still waiting for potion and food rework.

Let me be more specific. It is indeed normal practice to reuse assets and nothing much can be deduced from that per se.
It is a different matter altogether when we start seeing supposedly substantial updates where it is clear the reusing of assets has eliminated whole development departments from the process. The housing update fits the bill. A duel-finder would also fit the bill. This could mark a shift from "we want to build X, what do we need?" to "if we only have a few coders, what can we still do?"

P.S. Of course I don't know if this reflects the reality at ZOS. The housing feature could be a one-off. Perhaps they have all the other departments working on the Q4 update and beyond. But what I'm saying is not beyond the realms of possibility: that this is a way to cut developer resources. I've worked on a project myself where this happened and we could still go on for a while, but within much more limiting constraints.

..and we aren't even allowed to discuss PvP with the devs without repercussions.

Fixing Cyrodiil PvP should be a top priority for ZOS right now, even if they have to rebuild the game on a new engine to make it work properly. It was ZOS' decision to go with the engine they're using and if you go way back in the forum posts you will find devs saying the engine was not optimal for ESO. So it's not an unreasonable expectation that ZOS goes back and rectifies their decision to build the game on an engine they knew would struggle to work well with their game.

ESO has the best PvP of any MMO ever created. ZOS could fix it and make it work properly if they just tried.

I'm not much of a PvP'er myself, but I do know ZOS has something planned for PvP in Q4, maybe that will be the fixes and such everyone's asking for? curious as to what it will bring considering it's a part of the 10-year anniversary celebration.

They specifically stated the Q4 PvP whatever was not Cyrodiil related, so we already know it's not what the PvP community has been asking for for many years now.

Ah, I did not know that. That is pretty upsetting I'm sure to a lot of PvP lovers, but one could still be hopeful. Still curious what it'll be if it's nothing Cyro related. Maybe something with battlegrounds? Who knows

I think it'll be a new large scale PvP gamemode, if not a new Battlegrounds mode or map. Something like the PvP equivalent of the Infinite Archive from Q4 last year. But, I can only speculate.

    [edited to remove quote]

interesting to think of a PvP version of IA, waves of other players versus each other to progress to the next stage until the "boss?" (finalist from other side). Sounds like a tournament bracket system type of mode from the way I imagine it, very cool concept if so

I thought of this idea a bit ago as a different approach to ESO's PvP.

I don't PvP at all, but if PvP is to get an update, I'd rather my PvP loving friends and guildmates get something unique and fun, than just standard 1v1 dueling. 1v1's are cool, don't get me wrong, but for that to be the ONLY thing to happen for PvP as far as an update after years of problems seems to be a below average offer, i can't imagine it takes many resources to put 2 players together in a mini map area like the Kvatch Arena in Gold Coast for a quick 2-5 minute battle, at best more time for the heavy PvP'ers.

We can already initiate dueling through the interact wheel, not to mention there's popular player hangout spots that have people always looking to duel near the wayshrines, now it's just dueling with extra steps and an official leaderboard.

In my idea, I thought of a bracket tournament / battle royale -esque type of mode. x number of teams of 4 or 2 in separate areas fighting each other 4 v 4 or 2 v 2 style, victor advances to the next stage on each side in a blackrose prison style of advancement to the next area until the last two teams remain.

there could also be extremely low HP NPC lions or beasts to the side that can be unleashed / periodically come out, adding a gladiator fight vibe from the roman days.

the victors will be the last remaining team, taking home the majority of the spoils (bigger premium rewards) while 2nd place gets lower tier rewards.

If we really want to make things interesting, we can add a betting system with this, add an option to spectate a guildmates or a friend's tournament. bet x amount of gold, up to a certain amount only, let's say 10k max, on a team you believe will be the victor. further adding fuel for PvP'ers to win while giving PvP'ers and non-PvP'ers a show. Should the team you bet on lose early, you get refunded half of the gold back to make only 1 more bet of a max of 10k again. I imagine this to be like a Kentucky derby race for non PvP'ers to chill with friends while watching their friends or guildmates get wrecked or fight to the bloody end.

Again, i don't PvP, but the idea of a bracket system tournament sounds more fun than a simple 1v1. still, i like the idea of it, would definitely help with the ball group problems i hear from solo PvP guildmates, but something larger scale is needed for such a long wait to the end of the year and secretive announcement to a player base that's been put on the back burner for so long.

but i guess at this point, dreams will stay dreams. my sympathies PvP'ers

Hard to know the plans for the future really but the change they made to the yearly format last year at least to me was needed. The game had a lot of bugs piling up and even ZOS said they had a big backlog so I think when everything is caught up Q3 and Q4 DLC’s could go back to some meatier content.

I don’t have any expectations going into U44. My guess is some new BG maps.

What? Several? I'd say one, with reusing assets of the Archive.

Hard to know for sure, you could be right or maybe you won’t. Idk, not entirely important.

I based my answer on IA and that it is quite big and maybe multiple maps would make sense. I could guess until my head exploded but that doesn’t seem wise.

Actually I think there's a risk that it won't even be that. They called the housing thing, which is basically a search function in a menu, a "feature". They call the upcoming PvP thing a "feature". I wouldn't even be surprised anymore if it's also just a search/matching function or setting, no new playable game content at all.

What do I want to see in 44 after the reveal of the housing “feature” of 43? A housing feature more people wanted, something that would benefit everyone who enjoys housing, not just console players and the people who don’t use add ons on pc. I have nothing against the housing feature that was revealed that does benefit consoles, I just want something else in addition that benefits all of us.
