Want quick views of your homes with the new House Tours?

Select homes strategically placed near wayshrines new characters will probably need access to, decorate them, and list them as "Free Taxi: <Wayshrine>". So when players look hor houses in a specific zone they'll find it.

ie.. Decorate the Sugarbowl Suite, and list it as "Free Taxi: Rimmen".

This is going to set back the hopes of expanding housing item limits.

Imagine all that UNECESSARY loading of furnishings and the server strain.

Servers don't load in the houses. The game clients do. The housing item limits have nothing to do with the servers.

    o.O

If that is true, why don't they leave it up to players to decide if we want to increase our furniture limits???

I thought the whole item limit problem was due to server strain.

Why can't players simply say that their friends all have decent PCs and opt into having 1,000 item limit homes?

Because ZoS expects a certain level of performance from the game clients. If the game clients can't perform, then ZoS takes a ding to their credibility. Not to mention, if you decide to pack 1000 items into your house, and another player wanders in and their client machine can't handle it...>boom<

Surely it would be easy for them to just apply similar travel settings to housing previews, where you can port to the house, but can't port elsewhere. Otherwise they might as well scrap wayshrine costs if it could be so easy to avoid them.

The server has to retrieve the item list, to send to the client. Otherwise you would never need to buy or build the furnishings. It’s all the database work that determines the limits. Yes, the rendering is done on the client, but that can take as long as it needs, without affecting other players.

On housing limits, the issue is indeed the clients. ZOS have said so several times. And, basically, it's unlikely you can do much about that until you for instance stop supporting previous generation consoles.
