[SUGGESTION] Turn off grunting, moaning, yelling and screaming

The sound effects of the game are amazing, but the same cannot be said for our characters constant grunting, moaning, yelling and screaming their heads off with every light attack. I propose that we are given the option to turn it off. As I see it, there are two ways of doing this:

- ''Character Voice'' slider added to the audio settings.
OR
- ''No Voice'' option added to the character creation.

Strange that a feature so simple, so universally wanted, and potentially profitable still hasn't been added even after all this time.

I really wish they would remove the grunting and moaning guards inside keeps by the transits (spelling). Like damnnnn that is annoying to hear 6-8 guards doing the same grunt/weird moan over and over.

Fully agreed @Moonspawn. This is why I run the game almost totally silent.

I do think it would be a fabulous idea to add a character voice slider to the audio options. :)

No thanks, it's really a very minor issue. However the over the top and extremely ridiculous sound effects emitted by the game for merely clambering onto some mounts should be deleted.
I have an ethereal crown of three spirit crows:
    - On top is Grandfather spouting words of wisdom.
    - On the left is Empathy who is rather naive.
    - On the right is Ego who is rather greedy.
The incessant cackling is quite amusing.

I don't have a problem with character voices, and I do question the evidence behind "so universally wanted", not that I'd have any problem with it as an optional setting with character voices set to on by default. I don't think having a "no voice" option on the character creation screen would help as people wouldn't know at that stage whether they'd want to use it.

Some skills should be adjusted so you don't shout every time you use them. I wouldn't like to have a completely silent character, BUT at the same time it's extremely weird to be yelling every few seconds if you use Wall of Storms in your rotation.

So long as the proposed change is an optional toggle. I'm happy with my character's voices (including non-verbal) as they currently are.

So much this! Also, let us silence companions when mounted. The constant 'yah yah yah!' does my head in!

I didn't think anyone would actually oppose the idea of giving people the option to not be annoyed. No one is saying your moans aren't impressive, but maybe we can tone it down a little?

More sound options won't hurt. I have issues with volume of some other sounds as well, notably siege weapons. Yes, yes, it's understandable that these things have to be loud, but it gets old real quick.

Sound effects and voice acting in Eso might be good in theory. But like many other things in this game, the sound is broken. At least on Playstation EU. Developing something potentially nice and then failing with the technical implementation happens way too often in ESO.

Normally i don't care about the war cries and all the sounds our chars are making. But one thing that really turns me off in Cyrodiil are the loud and permanent death screams of defeated (dead) players. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes dead chars keep floating, cramping and screaming until they respawn somewhere else. They are dead, but somehow they are still suffering horribly. I guess it's a bug and i really hope it will be fixed soon.

I generally hate the sound on playstation at the moment, because a lot of times it's not in synch with the game. It's very confusing when i am in a fight, usings skills, and can not hear the sound of my skills or the opponent's skills until a few seconds later. It's very destracting and annoying, and i would rather play with the sound turned off completely.

There are plenty of other issues with the sound in this game. But i don't really care about npcs talking over each other while questing. Sometimes they just stop talking for no reason, while the subtitles keep going. Or voices are very quiet until I turn my char around... I can live with all that.

But for me it's kind of game breaking when i don't hear effects the moment they are happening. Kind of funny when it happens with dead enemies, but not very funny when a meteor is headed my way and i don't know when it's going to hit me on the head.

The cheering during dancing and fishing really annoys me. The laughing while jumping is only funny to me on my Jester Bosmer with the goofy sounding voice, lol. I don't really have an issue with the grunting and such during combat though.

Some people like it, so the best option would certainly be some sort of ''Player Vocalization'' slider in the audio settings. It occurred to me that adding a ''No Voice'' option to the character creation would mean I'd still be forced to hear everyone else's moans. That would be... less than ideal.

I wouldn't mind the character sounds if they were natural and realistic, but must of them sound like a wounded animal. I'd love a toggle or slider to turn these off.

Do we hear others' voices? I seem to hear them very rarely. Perhaps I'm not paying attention.

I'd love a setting, like we have for our companions, where we only hear our vocalisations rarely. That would keep some semblance of realism.

Yes. If I duo dungeons or Archive with a friend, I hear his Bosmer's theatrical screams all the time (and it always amuses me to no end).

In general, I'm not bothered by the my character's voice, except for a few sounds that seem completely off.

I'm all for options, of course, so a slider or setting to disable the screams for people who dislike them would be the best solution.

I wish I could upvote this once for every grain of sand in the Alik’r. A simple toggle to make my character STFU would be a boon worthy of Akatosh himself. Those sounds are not even realistic. Peeps just don’t yell every time they attack. It doesn’t sound dramatic, it just makes me reach for the mute on my keyboard.

I'd like there to be a way to differentiate the voices in character creation, as they overlap randomly with each race and are hard to pick apart from just hearing laughing, yelling and grunting (I can only differentiate them from the fight yells, but the creator doesn't give an option to listen to these ones. It's just plain stupid overall). And then have a slider in the options so your character will shut up if you so choose.

I spent a lot of time going over the voices in character creation, to match the style of the character that I was going for.
So yes, I love these sounds.

It's the same like with tennis: It can be a bit too much all this moaning and shouting, but then again a muted tennis match would be boring as hell lol.

I ask the people who are somehow against this suggestion to please be reasonable. All I want is to be able to play without the... involuntary reactions that your moans have on my body. A ''Player Vocalization'' toggle in the audio settings would accommodate everyone.

I'd really love to have this option!

Heck, I don't even dislike the grunts on most of my characters. But not being able to adjust the volume relative to other effects is frustrating. Sometimes I'd want it to be 50% quieter, for example.
